The TRUTH Behind Why I Bought a Ferrari F430.

I discuss why I chose to get a Ferrari instead of a Lamborghini, Corvette, Viper, or Porsche. Then I have to get up really early tomorrow to take the Ferrari to a charity event for kids in San Marcos. So I first needed to wash the car, but then I wanted to see if shoving some steel wool into the inner exhaust pipes would quiet it down...

Did you ever figure out how to quiet down your cold start? I frequently have 6am work meetings during the week and KNOW my neighbors hate me for it. Any car is loud at 5:30am, not to mention a modified supercar!

Did you disc rotors rust? Usually after a wash, I drive the car briefly to shed any water on the brakes. Not that it matters functionally.

dan, how long do you see yourself keeping your 430 for? and what do you think you would replace it with?

Daniel, it might have been a good thing that the steel wool exited the exhaust pipes as soon as it did. Steel wool is very flammable and if i am not mistaken I have seen your F430 spit flames. Youtube has many videos on how to start a fire using steel wool and just a 9V battery. Love your videos and I am loving my F430.

Gotta love Ferrari's racing heritage. That's what drove (lol) me to Alfa Romeo when i was looking for a two seater roadster. Now I have three Alfas, a 79 spider, 1991 164, and now a 2016 4C. Italian cars quickly turn into an obsession :-P

That event sounds awesome, I wish I could find something like that in my area. You shoulda gone with the Vette, you can start the car in Stealth Mode and with the flick of a switch open it up.

C6 Z06 can be had for $30k-$40k now. You may have been thinking about the C6 ZR1? Either way, great choice =)

I don't blame you at all for going with the 430, my choice was down to the 430 & new z06. I went with the z06 because of 3 factors, performance différence, age of the 430 and maintenance cost. but I'd be lying if I said I didn't still think about the 430. glad I bought the z06 but would have been happy either way I'm sure. have you drove a new z06 yet?

Good choice I like my Porsches except for the ignition being moved to the left side of the steering wheel And they seem to be more reliable but a Ferrari is just special to me also. It's cool watching you play with yours.
