damn man, you got a lemon. we have 2 of these boats and no problems at all. my wife and i love them and run them every weekend.  just have to use marine tape to keep the water out.

Sucks your having issues. I like horizon but have had issues with some of their products too. I appreciate your honesty, I am the same way if something is crap these guys need to be called out. For 169.99 the boat should work!!! You shouldn't have to upgrade out of the box. Think of it this way what if you bought a new car and had to upgrade the engine to one that runs a week later. How would that go over? I bet that company wouldn't sell many cars. These rc company's need to take notice and bring us quality entry level stuff!!!!

I didn't have any qc issues with mine, its just the driveshaft is poorly designed and eventually bent itself up from all the slop... Its getting modded, and should be back soon...

That’s not great. Sounds like it’s the receiver or even a dodgy esc? I have one and must admit mine has been fine no problems yet! Only thing I had to mod was the plastic antenna which was lose from the start and snapped off when it hit a big wave and inverted. So I left the wire antenna out and seal the hole with sealant. Thinking of upgrading to the new Veles now :)

in my experiance, horizion hobby has quality control issues with EVERYTHING they make. i bought an apprentice s 15e (plane) and after doing a range test and everything i had it up in the air, good for two flights, then the reciever went out on it. crashed, ruined about $60 worth of parts beyond repair (fuselage and tail) and they said all they could replace for me was the reciever, id have to have direct proof that the reciever failure caused the crash to get more. bought a umx carbon cub, long story short, piece of crap never flew once. took it off, a servo siezed up, straight into the ground, after getting aggrivated at customer supports lack of caring and trying to say theyd just send me a new servo otherwise im sol, i just hung up on them and shelved the thing. sorry for the long post, but i think its just a horizon hobby thing in general, its all about money to them. charge a hefty price, give you something worth an eighth of the money.

please get back to me on this.i just purchased this before i watched this.and my recoil has a horrible vibration sound out of the water wich i have not ran in the water yet due to the fact it sounds like it will explode lol..is that normal for these?it seems to function ok other than this noise that sounds like a bad bearing.thanks.
