Out of Town with Jack Hargreaves every Friday night on Southern TV when I was a kid in the 60's. Great song to stir the memories.

Good old Max. A traditional variety entertainer who was a bit of an all-rounder and was a star for years. Also reminds me of the gentle country series Out Of Town with the great Jack Hargreaves. I would give anything to go back to those times.

This was the original theme for the Southern TV programme 'Out of Town' with Jack Hargreaves. Later they went to an Spanish acoustic guitar theme, which had its own charm. But this is my nostalgic favourite of the two. By the way, this isn't the same song arrangement as the one for the TV series.

My dearest Mother used to sing this to me when I was a very small child. I never thought I would hear it again.

This beautiful innocent song is a reminder of my growing up in Liverpool in the mid 1950s. My parents taking our family to Stanley Park with its lake and flower designed clock in the centre.
It seemed so safe in those days. With respect for those in authority who protected society. Teachers Police, and the NHS which despite limited GDP and Government borrowing were plentiful
And Max Bygraves was a very underrated family entertainer, the kind we no longer have. Vulgarity on was unheard of in entertainment on TV

My mum always used to sing this song whilst cooking our roast Sunday lunch when I was a kid. She'd sound so cheery & happy. She died 2 1/2 years ago aged 83 & I miss her so much. Love you mum ❤️

Jack Hargreaves was an all rounder, who effortlessly said and did things about life, nature and the countryside, in a way we don't have today. Cosy, comforting, a loved elder of the tribe.

Slaughters me this song, heard it on a coach when I was seven years old en route to Elmers Court residential school in Lymington Hampshire, on my own no friends no family with me traumatic at this age and that bloody record was playing in the wireless.
