I used windows 7 for 5 years after it stoped being supported. Mostly worked. Just download an antivirus.

I feel well be seeing a huge uptick in linux users over the next year, and after win10 goes out of life. More than likely not a "year of the linux desktop" thing, but a definite uptick.
