I did not know Larry King had passed. I'm sure it was in the news, but somehow, I missed it. Thanks for taking us to pay respects to him!

Larry King, a true giant in the industry. I was fortunate to have met him twice, it was as if he was the guy across the street, very down to earth.

I liked Larry. He also interviewed Eddie Van Halen, now they’re both gone. RIP.

You missed telling how he became famous to have the CNN show. For decades he had a nationally syndicated overnight radio show, it was like 6 hours a night. He would take calls by yelling out the city and state it was from. It set the stage for Art Bell the next king of overnight radio.

Although he was relatively new in Miami radio, Larry had a good relationship with Jackie Gleason. Frank Sinatra owed a favor to Gleason for some shows that Frank couldn’t do which Gleason covered. To repay the favor owed, Gleason asked Sinatra if Sinatra would go on Larry’s show. The appearance was advertised but some found it hard to believe that Frank Sinatra would show up for Larry’s show. But Frank showed up. Sinatra’s rep warned Larry not to mention Frank Jr’s kidnapping (“You mention it, he walks”). The interview proceeded very nicely, and in the course of it, Frank said “Take my son’s kidnapping, ” etc. That’s how comfortable Frank felt speaking with Larry King.

GARLEAK, sounded something like that... Larry use to say for a commercial. Thanks for the view, at least he doesn't seem to be cremated like most well-known people
