Redmi Watch 5 Active: Too Cheap or too BASIC? [REVIEW]

Redmi Watch 4 has been tremendously successful and now we have two new models! Redmi Watch 5 Active is the first I'm testing and it turned out to be quite an interesting one.
If it's for the price - I'm sure everyone would love it! But are the features as good as we hope? Is Watch 5 Active good about health and fitness tracking? How about the hardware and all the features advertised? Join me and let's inspect all the details together!

I "bought" this yesterday for 39€ (I had 40€ credit in that store so basically "for free"), and I am pleasantly surprised. Very snappy and user friendly UI both in watch and in the app (iOS). I have been using all top watches from Polar, Garmin, Suunto and Coros for running and this does the job for a hobby athlete. I plan to use this for the alarm and to track my pulse during night. And for some basic exercise (carrying my phone). Yeah, the lack of GPS onboard and the possibility to adjust heart rate zones is the most annoying for someone that like doing sports - but for a smartwatch and for basic features it really really good value. 3.5/5 * from a sport swatchs nerd.

Am getting this as basic daily watch, with Garmin's software issues with Forerunner 165 and watch back to replaced.. I think a simple daily tracker like this will hit a home run !!

The biggest drawback for me, even for the Lite version is the missing of auto brightness, considering there's no shortcut to adjust it.

I bought mine from amazon for around 25 dollars and its a preowned one, and i like its simplicity, battery life and can answer and make calls! Value for money!

With as little as 28€, this smart watch is brilliant! Long battery life, big screen, possibility to make calls, it’s highly recommended. I got it for my nephew and it was a huge surprise. I have an Apple Watch ⌚️ series 8 and it felt like I threw my money down the drain! The worst purchase ever! It does nothing for it price around 500€. I hardly wear it.

Since my last query, I've generally been happy with the watch but unfortunately it grossly overestimates distance when not tethered to a phone. e.g. today's run it tells me was 7.5km, but when checked, it was actually only 6.6km. That's a HUGE discrepancy. I think the sleep reporting is a bit of a joke too. Last night's sleep was apparently "Good" - the comment in the app: "Your sleep quality last night was great". Reasons: "1. Sleep time was too long. 2. You woke up multiple times." 😅

Fantastic gift for my mum her birthday she doesnt need all those extra features of expensive watches anyway and 18 days battery life is crazy good for a woman who is too lazy to have to charge that thing every day

If you are going to use AI voce for other languages, just dont add them. Captions are more important then AI voice over, so hire/use something to make official at least English captions.

I bought one. Can you help me understand - this watch doesn't have built in GPS, but it clearly connects to GNSS (which you can actually see at 4 seconds in on this video). It does this when I start a workout (walk/run) and DON'T have my phone with me. It even pops up the occasional alert about a "weak satellite signal"?
