I really appreciate your review here my friend. Well done!!! I picked up a Sony A 90K today being Cyber Monday here in the states. I did compare it to the A9S and I agree with your comments on the newer model being an upgrade. I actually think by a lot. I noticed its more user friendly too in my opinion. I have had a Sony 32 inch tv for 13 years. Hasn't missed a beat. 48 inches is gigantic in my fairly small living room and in comparison to my old 32 inch Sony. I am absolutely thrilled. Sounds like Sony has done some additional burn in prevention too which is great. I have been watching Star Trek and football games . Absolutely stunning. The brightness of the TV is very bright to me . I know there are brighter tv's out there but brighter doesn't always mean better. I can't say enough good things about this TV. Sony hit the sweet spot on this one. I will be watching for more of your reviews. Enjoyed your delivery! Joe

Just some additional notes now that I have been using this tv for about a good 3 weeks or so now. I really couldn't ask for more. I have also been watching Bruins hockey games and assorted basketball games. Also some additional content such as the show called "Sliders". I really love how everything looks. It might not be the brightest tv out there but to me it still seems plenty bright and I actually turn it down some. The overall workmanship on this model is amazing. The sound system is way more than what I am used to so I have to say Sony did a wonderful job on the built in sound system in this. I am so glad I bought this television.

Got this TV for free at Best Buy. Absolutely loved it and went for the 2022 A95K for my living room

Just purchased the 48” version! Absolutely stunning. PS5 is seamless and the VRR makes it all worthwhile. Now I’m going to replace my 65” LG G6 oled with the 65”A95K. My LG has burn in and the ARC no longer works. That was my first & last experience with an LG product. I had several Sony tv’s and never had any reliability issues.

Lui, I like the way you compare the characteristics of the TVs. I 've ordered the 48 A90K. Keep it up.

Excellent video and a good way to show the differences. Very interested to see the same kind of comparison with the LG C2

Honestly, it's all about the picture quality. If you're going to make an lg c2 vs a90k video, please please please make a separate video just talking indepth about the picture quality differences in movies, upscaling and gaming. That's by far what's most important to me.

I had C2 and now A90K.Both 42".
For Content:
-C2 has pitch black blacks and absolutely no blooming whatsoever. Very clean. Negative is that it also has very punchy whites that makes the viewing experience unpleasant in bright scenes.
-A90K offers deep blacks too, but i feel like C2 has a slight edge here, and it has some slight blooming too, but only when watching content, there's no blooming when gaming. But all of this is because Sony offers a much more realistic and balanced picture without the strong contrasts that can be off-putting. Everything is pleasant to the eye with a more organic picture.

Gaming:
When i played RPG games i didn't notice any difference in input lag. But in fast paced games such as FPS games and Fifa i noticed a slight difference where C2 has the advantage.
Picture quality is the same most of the time. But here the whites are very punchy on C2 while Sony is nicely balanced. White kits in Fifa for example is punching through which im not a fan of.

I stuck with A90K because the whites are just too much on C2. Im willing to make that sacrifice for slightly higher input lag on Fifa.

Really like your side-by-side, static image comparison. Frankly, I don’t know why more reviewers don’t do this. It’s a far more effective means of demonstrating brand and model differentiation, so long as viewers have a general understanding of the variables (for example, one or two static images aren’t the whole story either, which of course you don’t claim.)

As for the T.V., it sounds like the optimal choice for a “small” PS5 set up. Very helpful.

Really well done and put together review on the A90k, I also appreciated that you understood the camera can't really showcase the true differences when doing comparisons so commentary is required. Hopefully you can do an LG C2 vs Sony A90k video since 1K vs 1.5K is quite the difference.

I like the fact that it's not thin as the C1/C2. It needs to be a small tank in ways.

Great review -- and thank you for showing the difference of having the blinds up vs down.

Sony New Zealand charges NZ$2, 499 for the 42' version. Will look to get this TV later this year when decent sales kick in (like NZ$1, 800). Needing to upgrade from my 2017 Sony 4k HDMI 1.4 43' TV. I prefer Google OS to LG or especially Samsungs Tizen OS. I have a new custom desktop PC I got Dec 2023 (RTX 4080, i7-14700K, 32GB DDR5, Samsung 990 Pro 2TB M.2 SSD) and I get occasional screen tearing due to the HDMI 1.4 connection and my powerful GPU. HDM 2.1 is the best for native 4k 120hz.

How well does it perform when you turn off that awful motion smoothing ‘feature’? For movies, would you recommend this or the LG (not budget dependent)?
