Celtics guard Marcus Smart and Warriors head coach Steve Kerr got into a heated back and forth during the second quarter of Wednesday night's game about a controversial play made by Smart earlier in the quarter. Smart dove for a loose ball and banged his head into Steph Curry's knee, forcing the All-Star to leave the game due to injury. After the game, both Smart and Kerr shared their thoughts on the play and say that there is no ill will between them.

The real dirty play was Smart sending he’s foot out 😂

Kerr probably contemplating bringing Zaza out of retirement for the next Celtics game.

Steve Ker rides for his players. That is awesome to see, shows he is part of the team not just telling them what to do.

Steph part was good. Kick with klay is different

This is what happens when no one knows how to play defense. It's either they let them score 50+ points, or they hurt each other.

Considering the history of Warrior's injuries I get why Steve is angry about players getting overly physical.

Clear respect for each other. They both brought up their past relationship so obviously no bad blood. Just a shitty circumstance. Heal fast curry

People are missing the point. The play in question is the one where Curry bends and Smart dives for the ball, It was a normal hustle play, and absolutely clean and fair. Unfortunately, Curry got hurt and had to leave the game soon thereafter. The play where Smart kicks Thompson has nothing to do with this analysis. In that play, Smart got hit with a flagrant, so he got his fair punishment for a reckless move.

i hate when people confuse ‘hustle’ with ‘being reckless’ . marcus smart doesn’t hustle, he’s flat out reckless

The foul on Klay was more dirty than Steph. Just a normal hustle play from the point gawd Smart

Who’s here now that they are going to meet each other in the finals lol

I understand Steve's frustration, they lost their leader to a horrible injury that could easily turn out to require surgery.. But Smart was just doing basic hustling, even tho I really don't like it at all, having seen injuries too many times because of that... damn knees man, the main villains of NBA

Beating them in the Finals would be the best oh wait, we did?

I believe Draymond Green has done something very similar, with foot, kicking field goals with Players Balls

What’s funny is if you watch the replay, a second before Smart jumps and extends his right foot, you’ll see Jaylen jump the same exact way, extending his right leg mid-jump ala “super kick” in front of Smart. Now if only they had Shawn Michaels on the court to make it 3 super kicks in sequence 😂

The 2nd play was more dirtier than the first. Lifting his leg up. Unfortunate what happen to Curry

There's an unwritten rule about diving on someone undercutting them. Hustle play...sure, but he also turned into his ankle.
