Well said! And the art work you created here is SO descriptive. You nailed it.

As a DeviantArt member I have been very reluctant to post my own finished work. This current situation just makes it so untenable.

You put this so passionately, clearly, and truthfully. I will show this video to my high school digital art students who use adobe products nearly everyday.

Excellent video! I agree with everything you said. You put everything so tightly packed this will come my to-go video to show people who aren't aware of the situation. Awesome work!

Really good to see a hugely talented artist at work who has soul. Than you for opening our eyes to what is happening in the world of AI. On the one hand I am deeply discouraged and depressed about the parasitic effects of big tech, social media, and AI. On the other hand I am immensely reassured that there are still talented, inspiring, and well informed artists like Roxi who are fighting back and illuminating a better path forward. I just discovered this channel yesterday (video about pencils from 9H to 14B) and I’m already hooked. In a world so filled with crap, and mediocrity it is encouraging to discover that talent, and integrity still exist. Thanks for the channel. I’m happy to be listening, and learning.

Also, wait up, Firefly I thought was opt out and trained only with consent and they have a payout model?

I agree. As a retired software developer, it's obvious why it's a bad thing for individuals. Companies only care that 'the line' goes up. Having said that, I use it all the while in my hobbies and even run smaller LLMs locally on my PC. The increase in quality and sophistication over the last 2 years is a worry for the world and a joy to me in my free time. Conflicted.

Without all the art that came before, YOU wouldn't be able to create anything either... no artist works in a vacuum, and I doubt that you had permission or paid royalties to all the artists that have influenced your work. People that are against this technology don't realize their brains are doing something very similar to generative algorithms when they consume and create art. The truth is, artist's work has been used in A.I. since around 2012 when the first image classification convolutional nets were being developed, but nobody cared, because an A.I. that can classify images is not a threat. Artists only started caring when A.I. got better than them and started threatening their livelihood, which makes me think it really isn't about A.I. "stealing" art, that's just the last desperate attempt of artists to try and stop this big scary thing that they don't understand.
