Not only did Marie handle the situation gracefully, but so did Drew. That's a difficult position and Drew got through it like a total pro.

A beautiful example of the right way to hold space for someone grieving. Drew didn’t quickly move on or make a light hearted comment to lighten the moment she really leaned in and created a safe place for Marie to share and not be left feeling like she’s burdened people with her emotions. I’m a die hard Drew fan but this really solidified how empathetic and precious of a woman she is.

Drew is that therapist, friend, shoulder to lean on we ALL need. The world would be a brighter place if we could be like Drew. She handled the interview gracefully.
She makes humanity beautiful.

Drew is one of the best talk show interviewers in many years.
So sympathetic & actually cares about the people she's interviewing.

She is so brave it made me cry... I get why she got back to work it can drives you crazy to stay at home and keep thinking about it that does not mean you forget but at least you can focus on something else

Bawling. I, too, lost my son when he was only 18 yrs old (six months ago). There is NO other pain like losing a child. I wouldn’t wish it on anyone.

At first I was worried because drew looked like a deer in the headlights but she recovered beautifully and not only made Marie feel supported but was also able to get her to articulate her grief in order to help viewers maybe going through something similar. God bless 🙏🏿❤️

This is the most powerful vignette anywhere, to convey the sheer grit & bravery of the human walk on Earth. I am so grateful to both.

I grew up listening to Marie Osmond and Donny of course. I remember back in the 80’s they performed at Ontario Place in Toronto Canada. She was sick with a flu/ cold .. and yet she carried on and put on a great show. I was impressed.
She’s had so many ups and downs and I’ve always had great admiration for her. Losing a child must be an almost impossible cross to bear. Sending love. ❤️

This was an important moment; it's a struggle that resonates with alot of people, probably today more than ever...and Kudos to Drew in not minimizing Marie's moment in telling all what she's dealing with and how she's coping.

God Bless Marie!

Drew did such a lovely job with this, taking a surprise turn in an interview and gently transforming it into a wonderful life lesson for everyone. And a huge thank you to Marie for being so open and candid.

My cousin committed suicide 5 years ago and I refuse to delete her number from my contacts. My heart goes out to Marie and anyone that has lost someone to suicide. 🥀 I pray she can make peace with survivors guilt. 🙏🏻🕊

I love Marie Osmond. She could have just excused that away. No, she was honest, real. I love how Drew was so graceful with Marie and I can I just say...I LOVE that Marie is talented and gorgeous!

I don't think Marie should have been judged by anyone on how she handled going back to work after the loss of her son. Shame on anyone who didn't give her the freedom to grieve & process & move forward how ever was best for her. I have always had nothing but respect and love for this woman and I'm adding Drew to that now as well because she handled a real human moment in a loving way and turned it into a teaching moment.
