In DOF, the Celestials are on an island named Starhenge. When you get one, they are already in their elder form which cant be changed unlike in msm. Now im not a lore expert, but i think they are statues in msm because Starhenge was falling so they took a stone form in order to protect themselves

As a Celestial Island enjoyer, here's the obligatory fun fact: Galvana created the Wubbox, and that they're elders in the prequel game: Dawn of Fire. I love the Celestials since their lore and design is really cool! Galvana is also my favorite monster, both sound, lore and design wise. They're just so cool and cute!

For more information Neena, each of the Celestials are essentially gods of the element they represent. Hornacle represents water, Furnoss represents fire, Glasuir represents cold, Blassoom represents plant, Syncopite represents crystal, Vhamp represents mech, Galvana represents electricity/supernatural (she’s also the leader of the Celestials according to Dawn of Fire) Scaratar represents poison, Loodvig represents shadow, Torrt represents earth, Plixie represents plasma, and Attomoz represents air. They also align with a month of the year in DOF which is the time frame you can get them in that game. They’re also on sale during that month in the base game

Fun fact: when the beat drop starts, the Hornacle (the horn guy with the claw and stuff) gets startled and jumps, and plays a note by surprise.

You’ve finally tackled Celestial island! (As of last month, as I can tell😅)

Some history about this island: Celestial island wasn’t always called this, as back during the Dawn of Fire, it was called Starhenge, where these ancient beings, the celestials, harnesses the powers of the stars, and the singing abilities of the monsters from the monster world below them, to keep the floating structure afloat. The celestials also weren’t always able to sing at the time either, as they don’t know how to do this after the events of the Big Clangor (the monster world equivalent of the Big Bang), until the colossals taught them how to sing.
As time went on, Starhenge slowly loses power, as the golden era of the Dawn of Fire is coming to an end. One of the celestials, the Galvana, prepared for this event by creating a monster that consists of all 6 natural elements at the time, thus creating the monster of the supernatural element: the Wubbox.
The Wubbox was created by the Galvana to act as a neural network for the colossals as they imbued their spirits into the various lands of the splitting continent to help try to save the monsters from the disaster.
Of course, during this, the celestials also took some course of action to turn themselves into stone to help preserve them from being extinct, thus marking the end of the Dawn of Fire.

Coming to the contemporary era of the monster world, Starhenge begins to fall from the sky, and has crash landed onto an unknown colossal that nobody knew about, and became what we now know, as celestial island. Once a celestial is revived from their statues, they’re reborn into their juvenile state.

With the celestial ascension update (starting with last August as of this comment), you can ascend a celestial during their corresponding month that they’re aligned to on the star chart’s corresponding constellation, and have them grow up into an adult, and later, elders (until August next year), as how they originally appeared in Dawn of Fire.

Fun fact: they are the young bc they rebirthed as in msm DOF it’s canon that star henge collapsed and fell onto celestial island creating the island and before it crashed they turned into stones to protect them from the crash that’s why they look so you g when you awaken them and also galvana is the creator of the wubboxes
