I was expecting another child abandonment story but this is refreshing, nice to see that at least one parent has love and empathy for their child

Bout Damn time we got one of these stories where ONE of the parents wasn’t a piece of crap! Glad to see the mom was the glue holding the pitiful excuse of a family tree together and when she left everything fell apart

Excuse me, WHAT?! I'm pretty sure ANYONE would be shocked that their daughter is lying motionless under the pool. But no, they are HAPPY she is "gone"?! They didn't even CARE?! These two are monsters, seriously! I'm glad the mom was by Nodoka's side, because at least SHE has some sense and show her love too! Seeing the fact he was shocked and confused at the mom's outburst, and has the gall to be angry when he was with HIS parents spoke volumes here.

Afterstory: Like the story said, Akemi successfully divorced her husband and both she and Nodoka completely cut ties with the family after having enough of the toxic favoritism, leaving their house for good. A few months later, the family hotel went out of business causing the family to be in hysterics. Grandma and Grandpa cried like big babies, the ex husband fell to the ground, pounding like a child, and Nanako wailed like Caillou. Their big tantrums caught the attention of some big influencers who happened to be V and Judy from Cyberpunk 2077. They were on vacation in Japan and happen to be one of the witnesses at the pool where Akemi stood up to Nanako and the ex husband. Seeing the two throwing their tantrums with their grandma made them film the action and post it later on. They did just that and family was got exposed for their sins and their behavior for throwing tantrums. The family was humiliated online and became shut ins, not wanting to go outside. That turned out to be a big mistake as the Grandma and Grandpa suffered the hardest as the stress of losing Akemi, Nodoka, and the business was too much for them to take. They began to drink heavily on sake which not only made them drunk everyday, but also destroying their livers. The ex-husband and Nanako couldn't do anything to stop them and after all the heavy drinking, the grandma and grandpa died painfully from liver failure. The ex-husband and Nanako were now on their own without grandparents. Nanako couldn't go to school, leading to her being expelled, and the ex-husband couldn't find work as no one wanted to hire a man involved with favoritism. Later, the two got taken away by the mascots of Great Wolf Lodge consisting of Wiley Wolf and his sister Violet, Oliver and Rachel Raccoon, Brinley The Bear, and Sammy The Squirrel. The mascots happened to be visiting Japan and decided to take the ex-husband and Nanako with them back to Great Wolf in Wisconsin U.S, and reeducate them on the importance of family. The ex-husband and Nanako couldn't fight back since the odds were against them and agree to be taken in by Wiley and the Great Wolf Kids. After arriving at Great Wolf Lodge, Wiley put to work as live-in employees at the resort as housekeepers, cleaning all the rooms of the resort without missing a spot. As part of their punishment, the ex-husband and Nanako can't participate in any of the activities including the Scoops Kids Spa, the Northern Lights Arcade, the Magic Quest Scavenger Hunt, and Indoor Waterpark until they do their jobs correctly. The only meals the two are provided come from the resort's restaurants and no where else. Wiley also makes sure that neither the ex-husband or Nanako get free milk and cookies before bedtime since they don't deserve them. Both the ex-husband and Nanako are currently living at Great Wolf, becoming shadows of their former selves, working under the watchful eyes of Wiley Wolf and the Great Wolf Kids, while also getting cold stares from guests visiting. It's unlikely they'll leave or participate in what the resort offers anytime soon.

As for Akemi and Nodoka, their lives are doing much better now that the favoritism toxin is gone. Nodoka won a gold medal at a sports tournament for the disabled. The medal wasn't the only reward as the two also received a massive cash prize worth 5 million dollars. With that money, Nodoka decided she wanted to walk again and that the prize money can pay for surgery and rehabilitation. Akemi was worried but knew its what Nodoka wanted. After the surgery and 2 months of rehabilitation, Nodoka was able to walk again and recover completely from her illness. Akemi was very happy for her daughter as Nodoka was happy for the full recovery. To celebrate their success, the two went to Sugar Factory and order many great dishes including the Rainbow Sliders, the Cookie Monster and Rainbow Brite Milkshakes and Big Cheesy and Flaming Hot Cheetos Burgers. To finish their meal, the two order the world famous King Kong Sundae and had Katy Perry's Firework song play as the servers bring out the sundae and dance with Nodoka and Akemi. Both mother and daughter are happy with their lives now that favoritism is no longer part of their lifestyle anymore and continue living their new fulfilled lives.

For a second I thought all her parents were forgetting about her but at least her mom was on her side playing with favorites and favoritism it's not a good way to go that father should have treat both of his daughters equally not the opposite

"You'll never know what you had until it's gone"

And that can happen in both ways that guy left his eldest daughter and his wife divorced him leading their family hotel going out of business

They got us in the first half thinking th mom is trash but her and Nodoka were planning this the whole time to get back at the other family members for treating them trash😂

Favortism at its finest. Everyone in the family praised Nanako and shunned Nodoka. Then, when they went to the pool, she didn't want to be in the same pool as Nodoka because of her condition. So, Akemi uses this as an opportunity to "get rid of her." When disaster hit, Nanako saw this as an opportunity to be an only child. However, this was all set up by Akemi to test Nanako and her father. In the end, Akemi was the glue to that family, but their favortism made her see how far they would go to support the useful.

Side: - I am surprised that now they lost the person who was saving their business, they didn't resort to other methods to make money or find someone to help save their business. In the end, this was mainly karmic justice delivered to them.
- I am mainly on the fence on if Akemi and Nodoka should try and help Nanako, but if they are willing to forgive Nanako and she changes her ways, then she can be saved.

I can’t believe that Nodoka’s parents left her drowning at the pool and they only cared about Nanako. However, Nodoka didn’t lose oxygen because she had an oxygen mask to breathe and thanks to Rolly for rescuing her. Now, Akemi really understands and she failed to be a good mother and she understands that her husband, his family and Nanako were terrible and treated Nodoka badly and leaving her behind. Also, Nodoka became a good swimmer and enjoyed the water. Now, Nodoka’s father and Nanako failed to even help her and they don’t even care about her anymore and soon Akemi divorced him, leave the family hotel, and take custody of Nodoka. After that, Akemi’s husband and Nanako’s family lost their hotel and karma has hit them. Akemi and Nodoka became closer after a lot of struggles and Nodoka became a professional swimmers after winning in the tournament for disabled. Never play favorites, neglect your child, spoiled them or leaving a child behind. Every parent must love both their children equally, give them a lot of love and support, show them respect, kindness and tolerance.

Fate for her dad, grandma and sister

They lost everything

Her sister was bullied a lot by a lot of girls who hated her after she treated her sister they called her the mean sister who put herself in the pool they pushed her little sister into the pool while she was close to drowning and screaming but somebody saved her her mother her little sister is traumatized, now she understand what she did to her sister with her dad did she had to go to therapy and then weeks later she apologized her sister she was wrong she blamed Dad for everything and she doesn’t wanna see him anymore her and her sister would get along and she realize what her grandma and her dad spoiled her and not paying attention her older sister. As years later did Dad try to come back because he’s desperate and her grandma died from a broken heart after losing the business, they refused saying you’re not our dad anymore and now he’s all alone and then I heard he died alone in his sleep no funeral arrangements they ended up cremating him.
