One other thing that Seu Alberto demonstrated but didn't talk about in this video: drum fills in samba are usually rather short unless you're soloing. This is because, much like in other styles of Latin-American music, you don't want to overpower what the other percussionists are playing and also because styles like samba or bossa nova are about getting people to dance.
