Jack Pattillo responds to Rooster Teeth Shutdown

Achievement Hunter co-founder Jack Pattillo responds to Rooster Teeth's shutdown by Warner Bros. Discovery on March 6th, 2024.

Roughly 150 employees encompassing RT were effectively laid off and will be unemployed within a month or so, according to RT employees. The status of remaining and upcoming shows such as Camp Camp, RWBY, and Red vs. Blue: Restoration are unknown. Warner shutdown the company after being unable to sell the company and determining RT and its properties were "unprofitable." Warner is looking to sell these properties once RT is shutdown.

Please support any and all employees individually on their personal platforms. All proceeds made to RT directly now are not expected to go to any of the remaining employees as RT begins to shutdown.

Of course people are being dicks, the company we grew up loving actively made bad decisions over and over because they got greedy. The OGs saw this coming years ago and they continued to slowly kill RT in front of us.

0:48 That right there, is one of the *many reasons* why RT fell, always having that adittude is why so many people would criticize them, and why they would leave when people like Jack makes an ass of himselfs... sure the big controversies are nothing to over look, but its also in the little moments like this, generalizing large portions of their community thinking enough will stick around to support them (they didn't).

Jack denouncing anyone who criticizes RT as just being a "hater" and blocking them like a child as well as the comments like "He did the smart thing by getting out of America" really just shows you why RT has been in decline for the past few years thus resulting in them getting shut down. They went from pioneers of an industry to a bunch of sniffling cry babies that get red in the face and rage on live streams anytime someone hurts their feelings. They built up an audience in the late 2000s and early 2010s and then have done nothing but shit on said audience for years driving most of them away. I used to love RT back in the early days of RvB and RWBY but it really is time for it to end.

It's sad to see this happen and people to lose their jobs without a doubt, but these guys the RT gang and AH gang were in their prime and at their best when it was a a small group of guys and gals just doing what they wanted to do when they wanted to do it. Jack's response here shows exactly what happened to Roosterteeth.

The first part of his respons is part of the reason why RT alienated so many people.
Feeling better than your fans and having 0 connection with them.
Having no clue what is going on and that you are part of the problem.

Where the later part, especially after Geoff came.
It shows why people fell in love with RT/AH.
Family, friends and having fun.
The core thing that has been missing from the content for years.

I wish everyone at RT the best. (Except the people that are largely responsible for this.)
It sucks, but everyone knew it was going to happen sooner than later.

I basically grew up with these guys, hell still to this day I want to go back and watch all the old content and compilations of the RT podcast and AH vids ( even with Ryan still in them ), but idk its just bitter sweet at this point

As other’s have said, I think Jack was one of the more toxic influences on the culture of this company. It’s not surprising to me that as the ship is finally sinking, he’s basically the only prominent OG that still remains from the golden era of the company
