Ventana Big Sur, an Alila resort, is an all-inclusive luxury resort in Big Sur, California, a scenic stretch of undeveloped coastline along the Pacific Coast Highway known for its beautiful landscapes for hiking and outdoor activities.

We stayed in a “Big Sur Suite” for 3 nights over Memorial Day weekend in May 2022. Our video is a quick tour of the room and grounds, including stunning views from the pool and “The Sur House” restaurant, a glimpse at all the gourmet dishes we had during our stay, and a look inside the Japanese hot baths.

The Alila brand of luxury hotels and resorts are part of the Hyatt hotel family and can be booked with points though the chain’s World of Hyatt program. Our stay at this luxury property would have cost over $8000 for 3 nights, but we stayed here for FREE thanks to transferring our Chase Ultimate Rewards points to Hyatt.

Wow, what a resort, it truly is the whole package. My favorite places are usually close to a bustling metropolis like OC/irvine or shoreside boutiques. But this resort seems to make the best of it's beautiful remote settings, while giving you everything you need....and then some. Truly an all inclusive experience like no other, Alila seems to be a brand of hyatt's that I must keep an eye on. This resort has a grandeur that could challenge the Park Hyatt Aviara, and joins it on my list of 5 stars that may be worth trying in the future. I can't wait to try Seabird (one of your recommends) and Alila Marea in the future (yes, I remember what you said about it earlier, but after doing a bit more research, I feel I kind of have to come to my own conclusions on it, and I'm approaching it with measured, but open, expectations).
