David Weiller, 43, filmed this footage of a Caterpillar covered with larvae of parasitic wasps from the rainforest of Sabah, Borneo, Malaysia.

Adult parasitoid wasps lay their eggs inside the caterpillar and once the larvae hatch, they start consuming the caterpillars biological fluids.

After having partly developed inside the caterpillar, the wasp larvae take control of their host by turning it into a bodyguard that defends their survival.

After larvae are fully grown, they burst through the caterpillar skin and wrap them themselves up in a cocoon.

Today, my boyfriend and I saw an inchworm caterpillar covered in wasp eggs just like this one. It was hanging off of a tree from a string of silk, looking very miserable because it did not know how to move comfortably covered in all those eggs. My boyfriend grabbed the caterpillar by the silk and we set it on top of a wooden surface. It had a difficult time moving. We picked off all of the wasp eggs, and it started to move around freely. I could tell it was very happy that all the weight from the eggs had no longer been causing a burden. We set it back on the tree trunk where it began to move its way up onto the branches!

You can see the caterpillar calling for help.If I saw this I would get out my scissors and cut each white coccoon in half.
