I enjoy the background like that lol I know it’s weird but it’s just brings me back to the old days. Looking forward to this game this is what started me on final fantasy the music is still the best

I bougth it on the switch and loving it, i own the original PSX and the original PC versions though, but playing it on the go its a league of its own

Seeing how you did it with very little effort, it upsets me they really didn’t spend any time or money on this one. Sad to see them give so little love to my favorite game. 😢 Still preordered it and going for the platinum though.

One thing I noticed is the audio isn't synced up right for Squall's short combo Renzokuken, and it throws me off sometimes if I'm not really paying attention. It's mildly annoying, but I love this game so I don't really care. I couldn't be happier that this is even a thing

You can avoid encounters by walking on the road/rail, or by pressing L2+R2 for escape. Besides those 2, there are also "Enc-Half (actually ¼)" & "Enc-None" abilities later in the game.

Regarding the backgrounds. It's possibly a stylistic choice. One idea on top of the mod mentioned is to apply camera effects to different areas. Most of the scenes are very much photography based, it's the ones that use multiple effects and the ones that can't look better no matter what you do that would make that tricky. Alot of more style heavy games focus on particular effects in and of their scenes. It's a shame they did it like that and why not bring it into widescreen where applicable? Whatever, the card game is fun.

And here I thought the backgrounds was going to be improved. Can't be surmised Square Enix would cut a corner somewhere.

you didn't mention my biggest problem with this remaster....there's no vibration on the controller, and you can't turn the camera with the right analog joystick. it might sound nit-picky, but there was nothing more satisfying than pulling the trigger on the gunblade, and having that small rumble, to say "yeah, you are doing damage!!!!". really hope they patch this one in.

I'm conflicted on whether to get this on PC (quality) vs. Switch (portability).

I'd get both if I was made of money...

its too bad they didnt do this kind of a remaster for VII on ps4. I know its a beloved game and people would be upset if it changed too much but it would have been nice to have some character models that dont look like Popeye

So how do you speed up gameplay and turn off random battles and give yourself max hp

It looks great in handheld mode on a Switch. Im honestly baffled that reviews don't mention this. The backgrounds only look bad on a TV. When playing in handheld mode, it almost looks as good as the original did on a ps1 and old tv!!!! If your a fan, you need to try this. Trust me, you love it!! And those who have already discovered this, know exactly what I mean;)
