We traveled up north to Orillia, Canada for a great snowkiting session during a snowstorm. If you've ever thought about kitesurfing on snow, check out this video where we discuss the essential elements that are needed for snowkiting to be possible. We were on snowboards, but others were on skis. Enjoy!

The best part of kite boarding is its multi season adaptability. Looking forward to meeting you guys sometime! Drove right past me, I'm in Barrie! I'm sure you've been here before but Kempenfelt Bay is really nice once we get some snow to stick. Ice huts out, people cross country skiing, walking, snowmobiles, occasional helicopters and planes fly over sometimes. It sounds busy but there's lots of space, everyone's very up beat and enjoying this beautiful Canadian winter! :)

Great Vlog - again! Just started snow kiting myself (in Ottawa) and I was missing the chairlift for a rest. It's way harder on the legs than on water (at least for me). We have a great forecast and new snow so you inspired me to go again.

what a great day, love the snow storm conditions. Must've been tough to go all day! Nevertheless, thanks for sharing the tips and helpers on getting started!

I live on the Cdn prairies where conditions are great for snowkiting for most of the winter. Lots of frozen lakes, steady breezes etc. Around here finding good conditions on water is the problem as summer winds are often gusty and can die off suddenly. I much prefer snowkiting because, ironically, I stay so much warmer than I do in water. You can dress for any winter weather but it's cold getting in and out of the water unless you're in the tropics. One other thing; kitesports are easier to learn on snow than water. Cheers.

Super nice, kiting on ice!!! Haha.
If the conditions are good (here in Holland) I definitely want to try this. Looks amazing. We had some snow the other day but 2cm (1inch) is not

I snowkited once, I think on lake Simcoe.
I don’t think I could yet kite on water, but on frozen water, I was ok going upwind 😁

havent made it work on water yet (unless you count kite canoeing...) But your right so much damn effort to make it work on skis, not allot of beaches or places to launch a kite in the summer in my neck of the woods. but am trying make some kind of kite powered canoe-amaran contraption to surf from once you get out to the middle of the lake, love the commitment though.

Good to know Kipling has enough ice to kite once we get a better base. Did you test the ice thickness?
