I've been involved in photography since the days of film and full manual cameras, and one was lucky to have a light meter. You had to learn the basics if you wanted to work as a wedding or portrait photographer. I take pride that I don't depend on AI generated images. I will process them with the help of AI (mostly noise removal). If I put my name on them, it's because I captured that original, raw image. I've had many exhibits in my local area, and the most asked question is: "What kind of camera do you have?" What they fail to think about is how my knowledge has allowed me to use that TOOL to produce the results I've envisioned. I keep evolving with the help of courses like yours. Mind you, I'm almost 73. I'm also a drummer for a popular Blues music band. We don't use any kind of tracks, or auto-tune. What you hear is what we are actually playing and singing. You either have it or you don't. Using AI to pretend one has the ability or knowledge to produce an outstanding work of art, and passing it as "original" is an insult to the arts, to real artists, and mostly, to the end consumer, who many times will fall for the pretense. Great message Blake. In our present day instant gratification culture, too many people want to take shortcuts rather than having the integrity to do it the right way. I'm afraid the Ai abuse you encountered on the FB group is akin to the hackers and copycats that rip off peoples work on Instagram - sadly, it will get worse before (if) it gets

As always, the simplest wisdom, is usually the best and Blake lets us know that in the end, Integrity, is what it's all about and this man has a lot of it. I totally agree with you, Blake! I have claimed my AI blends since I’ve been posting and using MJ. WE are not the problem… sadly, there are so many people today who don’t have integrity. And too many people dont use Critical Thinking. People pass on posts without checking the facts and people “like” images which are clearly AI. They don’t appreciate it when I pop up and tell them that they are liking an AI image. 🙄
I think it’s pure laziness on both sides.
Okay, off my soapbox and back to creating….btw…my studio is messy but I KNOW where everything is…and it keeps the OCD people out of my hair, lol!

I share your belief in this. Ai can have a place but must be upfront about how it is used. When I load some of my processed images onto my website it lists them as a generated image but I only made traditional adjustments in PS; layers, selections, masks, etc. But it is all my photo. This is close to someone passing off a captive animal photo as a wildlife photo, no integrity there.
