Even Peter one of the most Loyal of Jesus Disciples denied knowing Jesus for his own safety because he was afraid of death. But after Jesus's Ressurection he choose to die for what he believes in.

And he had requested to be crucified upside down because he said

"I am not worthy to be Crucified the same way my Lord did"
