Roman fast food restaurant in ancient Pompeii (Italy) - BBC News - 26th December 2020

We tend to think of takeaway/takeout/fast food as a modern invention but as this proves, ancient Romans liked it as well as this ancient place in Pompeii was unearthed and proved to be. Not surprising or it shouldn't be, as man settled into communities all over the world, it was only a matter of time that food places would spring up. The Romans at least, proved they were doing it thousands of years ago.
