Is Baerskin STILL GOOD? Baerskin 4.0 + Rain Jacket 2.0 Review!

The customer service is bad. It's been almost a month since I ordered. I have sent emails and tried to call with no response.

Cabelas’s did this with their own store branded gortex jackets had a polar tech fleece that zipped into the rain shift shell jacket more than 15 years ago. I like the Bareskin hoody style better than my larger non tapered fleece layer. They are similar in warmth. But the tactical hoody is nicer fitting. I uses the 10 pockets for a few hand warmers when it gets lower to help increase warmth. They get put in arms in heads area and chest. So if your at a football game where you cannot move you can stay warmer longer with the heat placed around fleece for not mush extra money.

Columbia and North Face have had that 2-in-1 feature for more than 20 years. My ancient Columbia and my wife's ancient North Face jackets have a zip-in liner/shell combo. This is nothing remotely new. Even the military issue ECWCS had this 20 years ago.

my wife bought me two bearskins and i honestly can say these are the only things she has bought me in the whole of our long marriage i said please dont buy me anymore of these . normally i say no matter what she gets me its fine, good great ect.but i told her right away do not buy me anything from this brand again. it hurt her feelings but i cannot risk getting stuck with these pieces of shite . the hoods dont fit right, the clasp broke on the hood first week, the zippers get parts stuck and wont come loose without breaking, and their customer service sucks good luck getting a return or even an email back. and they are cold as santas north pole. i have to put another jacket under and sometimes over it. so i just use it for a lite jacket if the weathers above 70 and they are not rain proof. most of all you made me hurt my wifes feelings so yeah theres tha

Their customers service is a joke. I ordered 2 hoodies of different colors, they sent me the same color. Called several times with no call back. Emailed support several times, finally got a response. Sent the hoodie back at my cost for a refund, receive confirmation that they have it and its been radio silent. Tried calling, left message and get canned email asking if i want to keep the hoodie for a percentage off. Again they already have my return.

So, I got the $20 Ali version…it’s great. Has the visor…which is perfect on snowy evenings when I have my head light on in the woods hiking my dogs. I’m interested in the new-ish rain jacket though. I’m sure they are compatible. Unfortunately the actual fleece is on like $60….while the rain jacket is $100!!! Ah well, I’ll just toss a steamed rain jacket over the fleece if by chance it starts raining. As far as the “3 in one” concept….that is actually ruled by north face, stolen from Columbia years before. And even older in the military ecwcs system….which makes this setup look like absolute dollar store crap!!! Ecwcs (extreme cold weather clothing system) includes poly long Johns, your uniform, fleece 1/4 zip, down puffer, and gore-Tex outer shell, also in same format for legs. I’ve taken it a step further and added a heated vest that I wear over the 1/4 zip fleece, but UNDER the 600 fill down puffer, with goretex shell completing the setup. And I bought it for just under $100 at my local army/navy shop. It’s up to gen III now, but, I’d go with gen 1 if possible. And you can get awesome patterns like m81 woodland camo!!! this baerskim marketing is downright annoying though. Like I said before I also have a north face soft shell with a separate polartec fleece jacket that zips in. Even that setup was only 100 jackets/80 fleece…and for the $10 overall more than baerskim….its on year 10 or so holding up well. I’m sure this marketing campaign, including paid reviews like your own, has tricked many people out of their money for sub par outdoor gear. Go online and look up ecwcs and you’ll never regret it.

How do you attach the fleece cuff to the rain jacket? The hood should attach as well.

Mmm I have never had and any problem with them. I have bought 2.0-4.0 all been delivered within 2weeks to a month.

So my experience. The delivery time was awful. Order mine Dec 2 2024 received Jan 22 2025. However, my customer service experience was great. They returned emails sometimes within the same hour, the only exception was around Christmas time which was understandable. The response time was a few days during the holiday season. They offered a full refund or discount off my next purchase because of the delay. I decided to wait. I wish I saw this review before I ordered because I ordered a large. Which looks okay but is less fitted than I think a medium would be. I am similar in size and build to the guy in the video. Overall I think it was worth the wait I'm very happy. It's super warm. I think I'll buy the shell next. It's apparent these guys need to scale up production, I'm hoping in the future this will be manufactured in the USA. I think it will help with their current shipping issues/delays without sacrificing the great quality of this fleece. Again, my experience is this is not a scam you just need to be patient. I'm very happy.

Ordered on December 6. Got a confirmation email. Absolutely no communication after that. It has not shipped from what I can tell. I’ve emailed them three times by responding to their email, sending an email to their customer support, and going on their website. Got nothing back. I feel like I’ve been scammed.

Don’t buy this please. Save your money this is a scam. Ordered at the beginning of December. They didn’t refund the money and they don’t answer emails, calls or webform.
