Awesome, this seems much more efficient than my current method of stopping using walls :D

I love the "real student" approach. Why not do more more of them? It helped me a lot to see Anna get better and better.

This technique is brilliant! My greatest challenge is stopping, especially when too much speed picks up (on a downhill) and panic sets in. Thanks for sharing your expertise!

I think this is the best instruction I've found on the internet. Extremely happy I bought your course.

Helpful to see student skater. Gives me hope...

Very good idea to present you with a student who is not very advanced. Here is the difference between your skilled stance and the lower of your student very clearly. Thanks for that

Glad to see you back.

I haven't been skating recently much at all. I went for a ride today. I was amazed how well it turned out - long distances one-legged, great control of outer edges, good aerobic condition... How come?

What I've been doing instead of skating for the past couple weeks is conditioning for gymnastics. Lots of core work, exercise ball, yoga, handstands, cartwheels, a bit of slacklining... to the point of feeling achy and exhausted most of the time.

But apparently all those core exercises are doing some miracles in the skating department. So... if your skating feels crappy and makes you tired, don't just go on skating and hope for the best. Instead, do yourself a favor and work those muscles responsible for maintaining body postures. Like the hunched over posterior pelvic tilt speed skating pose. Or the straight body, extended hip figure skater pose. Any conventionally "uncomfortable" body position really. Maybe your skating sucks because your body is weak - but based on my experience it's not going to become much stronger from skating alone.

Really good video, and very clearly explained as always. It's really helpful to see how it's done perfectly, and also how us mortals try to emulate it and work towards it. This a big step towards carving and slaloming hills, which is giving me problems at the moment, so it's a real help.

Great Lesson. You know, i have been having trouble reducing speed whilst in narrow downhill paths, where you don't have much of a chance of using this type of turns, i hope one day you make a lesson on that. Saludos desde México!

I really liked having real students participate in the lessons. It is really inspiring seeing the student improve as we see her complete the drills.

I've watched quite a few of your vids up until now, but the quality of instruction on this one made me subscribe.

Great instruction. I'm getting inspired to put my inline skates on after being stored away for several years. I was frustrated with not using them properly. After watching a couple of your videos, by accident, I subscribed. I didn't realize that there was a lot more to learn about skating. You present the techniques very well by example.

Que bien Asha¡¡. Es una idea genial. Los vídeos con estudiantes hacen que lo que estas explicando sea realmente realizable por alguien como nosotros. Yo de momento mañana practicare esto. Un abrazo.

Love this approach! I feel like I'm watching myself. Just came off the ice and am trying to get used to my rollerblades again after the winter off. Wow!! So much
more difference than ice!!!! Lol. Thank you for these videos, I would never have the courage to keep going at age 55. Lol

Cool! Excellent video, Asha! I´ll try it tomorrow with Simone (although I´m not sure my parallel curve skills are up to the task yet). Thanks!

Great video! I'll for sure try doing this. Me and my mom have watched some of your videos. It's a bit hard for me to understand though. Just because I'm self taught, and I'm not used to copying videos. New subscriber! <3
