What's up guys? Scott here and we're going to look at a metal guitar tone that I created which was totally inspired by NILE. This tone takes primary inspiration from when NILE were using ENGL Invaders. I also took this challenge further and used completely free metal guitar VST plugins (cab impulse included) to try and get a decent sounding tone.

Of course, this is not the exact sound NILE had. I don't have the same pickups or gear as Karl Sanders and I'm also not Karl Sanders. That said, this is a brutal sounding tone and, personally, will blow the doors off any metal mix.

The Le456 is still one of the best amp sims available, when mixing for my band I'll usually have one guitar through the Le456 and the other through the VTar Termless. Two amazing free amps!
Also, that tonestack looks exactly how it's supposed to: cut the lows to make room for the bass guitar!

Awesome tone, I wonder how would it sound if NadIR quality was set on Extreme?

Btw why do you use such agressive filters on EQ (slope-wise)? IRRC Slopes higher than 18dB start crapping on the transients.

U need the invaders hahaha sick pickups man then u close to nile. I own them pickups awesome just eq needs to be tweaked. Mids down bass a little bit up treble high not too high but high u have niles sound

Drop mids a bit more bass gains are fine u get thicker tone too more death metal style no mids lol

Sick tone and riffing, curious... is there some nasty frequencies going on in the cymbals and hi hat on this by any chance?. I played this back a couple times and it sounded (to me) like each time they hit some washy/shrill overtones were a little prominent. Especially on the hi hat.

Now if no post processing was done on the drums then that would most likely be the case. In saying this I mean no offence at all as you know Scott I’m a huge fan of your work and I love this tone and the tune is great (would love to hear it as a full song).

My apologies if any offence is taken, not my intent here at all. I might try playback on a couple different speaker sets and I could absolutely be completely wrong here.
