IELTS Public Band Score Descriptors:
Are you stuck at band score 5 for your IELTS writing? Michael talks about why that might be and what you need to do in order to get to band score 6 and above.
Band score 5 example text:
The graph shows the number of happy students in teacher Michael’s class.
Every person love teacher Michael, like me. In day two, six people like teacher Michael the line then goes up 10 students. In day 6, most students like teacher Michael. Students then go down in day 8 four students. From day 10 to day 14, students is only two. I think these students lying, everyone is love teacher Michael. From day 14 to day 20 more people love teacher Michael, ten students. On day 22, the number of students drop to two again, I think they worry about IELTS exam soon. I think everyone passes test because day 24 all twelve students like teacher Michael, this is the highest number.
Band Score 6 example text:
The graph shows the number of happy pupils in teacher Michael’s class.
Overall, more students are happy in teacher Michael’s class in the early days and at the end.
There are two peaks in the graph. On day zero, there are 6 happy students in his class. The number of happy students rockets up to ten people on day six, this is the first peak. The second peak is on day twenty, which is ten happy students, more than the first peak. There is also a third peak on day 24.
In the middle from day eight to day 14 there are a few happy students. After the peak on day 8, the number of happy students falls to two on day ten. Then happy students stay the same until day 14. After day 14, the number of happy students rises again to second peak.
Finally, between the peaks on day 20 and 24, there is a huge dip to only 2 students again.

What is The IELTS Grind?
Michael & Phil are two colleagues who have nearly two decades of teaching experience between them, much of it teaching the IELTS and other examinations. After identifying common errors and challenges our students were having, Michael & Phil decided to start a YouTube channel to help them, and others, out.
