I wear nail extensions sometimes, and let me tell you that when it breaks that way it HURTS A LOT. Way more than a regular nail breaking. I also have this kind of reactions when it happens. The worst is when the whole nail comes off.

when an acrylic pops off like that it feels like you’re getting shot in the finger with a BB gun. the fake nail is thick and glued to your nail, so when it snaps, the thickness of it causes it to snap and pop off. it pops off so hard that the broken part flies away. and bc the real nail is thinner and softer than the fake nail, there’s a very high chance that her real nail is split underneath. i also crumple to the ground when this happens even with a high pain tolerance
