We actually has a joke in Russia about never changing design of UAZ Bukhanka: Every car manufacturer in the world is changing and improving their cars during the time. UAZ nailed it from the first try.

The message here: Simple and reliable

To bad the major car manufacturers don’t get this

I've driven the original Lada Niva. It could go anywhere off road, 8" of snow was no problem, but not on the highway. Not because of bad road handling or top speed but because of the ear shattering and deafening noise from the 4x4 distribution box. We called the vehicle in question 'The Rumble Generator' for obvious reasons.

Even WW2 Jeeps still in production in the Philippines, should check that out, I'm an Aussie and I'm drooling over the LADA👍😁🇦🇺

Why don't Volvo build the 240 series anymore? It would still sell well. I'd buy one tomorrow.

I owned a Lada Niva. The engine was primative, gutless and thirty, but the size, suspension and 4 wheel drive system meant the damn thing would go absolutely anywhere, including places 'serious' off road vehicles couldn't.

6:03 Nice to see a quality new car without the ugly distracting laptops on the dash.

Number 1 car in production is nissan junior under production in Zamyad company in Iran. This mini truck is more than 60 years old with minimal changes. It's a piece of steel with an engine and no electrinics.

While I still can buy a brand new UAZ buhanka I will have dificulties getting it registrered in with the red tape here in Denmark and the same goes for many other European nations.

A pity most of these are not available in the US. I am sick of fuel injection and all these electronic doohickeys.

How about the Morgan +4 introduced in 1950 with the flat radiator then updated with
The curved radiator in 1963 still produced today in Malvern in England hand built with ash frame.

How ironic that one of the photos of the Peugeot Pars in this video has a Lada Niva in shot as well. Got to love the durable and tough nature of the Niva.

Very interesting video, shame about the monotone voice-over.

I want a UAZ 452 Bukhanka so bad. I saw a couple people have imported them to America recently. I really want one now to do some offroading and camping in it.

I want a carb, points and plugs. Hand crank windows with wing window. No fob. Keys for door and ignition. Three on the tree. 4 on floor ok. 4/55 air conditioning (all windows open at 55 mph). Station wagon or Corvair van style). Who is with me?

The loaf does not get stuck, therefore it can not be stuck in the 60's 😎
