The title of this video is false clickbait. In the same conversation they're quoting him from, Tarantino also said he's a huge fan of Clockwork Orange. He just didn't buy the anti-violence message Kubrick defended it with. Tarantino's argument is, though the film is exploring the anti-violence theme, there is no doubt that the violence in the film IS used as entertainment, even funny at times. This is one reason Tarantino loves the film and finds it so subversive. I think Kubrick may have agreed with him. Hard to believe Kubrick would not have been aware of the irony in the work.

Tarantino just says anything that comes into his head.

Love Tarantino's movies, but some of his extreme opinions and his big mouth make him irritating sometimes. His defense of Roman Polanski made me strongly dislike him, and even worse is the only reason he backpedaled on those comments years later is the MeToo movement being a thing and he didn't want to be cancelled

It's not an anti-violence film. It's a jet black comedy about juvenile delinquency and the state set in the future. In my humble opinion.

A clockwork orange is objectively my favorite movie of all time. I’ve probably watched it like 30 times. When I was young, it was a teenage Boner fantasy. Now that I’m older it’s horrific, but it’s still entertaining. I don’t care about the directors. Motivation is it’s a dope ass flick. Look at how stupid my phone is. I can’t even do text to speech right. That’s the real horror.

Tarantino will never make something as masterful as a Clockwork Orange.

Kubrick's top 3 films:
1) 2001: A Space Odyssey
2) A Clockwork Orange
3) Dr Strangelove

The think about Clockwork Orange for me is the fact that Alex is both the hero and the villain of the film. He's a complete sociopath for sure, but he's also a natural leader, confident, inventive, sharp and charismatic. He's a terrible guy, but you can somewhat respect him also. He reminds you that the idea of heroes and villains may not be as black and white as you think. There is no doubt Alex for all his many flaws is highly intelligent and strong-willed. He is a thug, but he is not your local low-iq thug. Far from it.

Maybe projection? Maybe not? I personally don’t really care for ACWO

Tarantino is an idiot. And he proved it once again with this comment. He's the hypcrite! He uses violence to entertain! Kubrick (or Scorsese, to mention another director) never used violence to entertain, they used it to disturb, as it should be.

Tarantino is saying Kubrick liked violence? Tarantino? The guy who made Pulp Fiction, Kill Bill 1 and 2, and Reservoir Dogs?

A Clockwork Orange is the most terrifying non-horror movie I have ever watched. It is a really good movie, but I don't think I'm ever going to watch it again, and I've seen pretty fucked up movies without flinching once. There's something about the nuanced terror of this film that is too much to watch it all over again.

A Clockwork Orange is not an anti violence film at all. Its about free will. Period. As was the book. From the first frame it revels in the violence as does the book. What a crock of shit.

He wasn’t outraged, he just thought that the way it was filmed shows a director who loves violence, fair enough if thats his position, I don’t think it contradicts the anti-violence message of the movie, nor do I think Tarantino was suggesting the overall message was that, Tarantino is reacting to a quote, whether real or not, that Kubrick detested CINEMATIC violence, not violence per se.

He didn’t hate it. He’s just pretending he’s Pauline Kael.

Paths of glory is his masterpiece. Wouldn’t call any of his other films.

I hated they filmed full metal jacket in cold England. Kubrick was kind of lazy for not moving. R lee Ermey did a better job with Siege of fire base Gloria.
