After the Guardians of the Globe are killed, many heroes come from all across the world to attend the funeral, including two surprise guests, the Mauler Twins who say they are here with the intention of paying their respects. Surprisingly the heroes allow them to stay and apart from an incident that occurs with Black Samson’s butler, the funeral otherwise goes on without a hitch. As Invincible is leaving the funeral he is warned that the Mauler twins are clearly up to something but nothing is done
Later that night, two gravediggers appear at the graveyard where the Guardians of the Globe are buried, with the intention of digging up the immortal’s body for the promise of immortality. They dig through the night and finally hit something, but before they can go any further, they are greeted by the Mauler Twins who clearly have their own plan for Immortal’s body. The twins take the body to an abandoned warehouse where they attempt to revive the Immortal and install control to beacons to manipulate him for their own endeavors. However, they clearly underestimate the Immortal’s strength because he wakes up and instantly breaks out of his restraints, leaving the Twins disappointed.
