This setting is by Jacques Berthiér, published in 1978, and uses only the words of the refrain, with verses taken from I Corinthians 13:2-8.

I learned this song in primary school and the teachers never translated it for us. And we Knew, we were praising God, it Never mattered.
How lovely to come across it, 40 years later. Still, beautiful. In any language. 🙏🙏🙏🇮🇪💫🕊

I sung this song in my chorus concert, it is one of my favorite, so beautiful. Ubi Caritas, et amor ( where Charity and love are, ) Ubi Caritas Deus ibi est. (Where charity is, there is God). So beautiful!❤

Beautiful. My channel name incidentally comes from a Goon Show circa 1950s. I am a lapsed Catholic who lives in Norwich but there was something about a visit to the extraordinary Chedgrave church one cold autumn Saturday last year sprung something within me and I cannot stop reflecting about the area, I hope to revisit soon and perhaps share a prayer. My very best wishes, Michael.
