Flipper tab and thumb studs for SpeedSafe assisted opening.
OD green aluminum handle.
Secure sub-frame lock.
Four-way reversible pocket clip.
Description:

It's a Knockout in more ways than one. The Kershaw Knockout looks great, but the reason it bears this name is that a piece of the lightweight aluminum handle has been "knocked out" and inset with a stainless-steel plate to create a frame lock called the Sub-Frame Lock. You get the lightweight benefits of aluminum handles and the strength of a steel frame lock with integral lockbar stabilization. This Kershaw folder also features SpeedSafe assisted opening. It's equipped with the new deep-carry clip and is drilled for quad-carry: tip-up, tip-down, left- or right-handed.

I've had my green 14c28n for the last 4 years. I work for a living and my knife shows it. The Knockout is a TOUGH knife. the steel is a little softer than I'd like but I keep a Lansky in my gear bag so I can renew the blade as needed. My knife is scarred up and stained but it's a working knife. It is definitely light. I swapped out the factory micro pocket clip for a an MXG high carry clip. The whole deep pocket carry fad is for the birds for working guys. I like my knife riding nice and high because I use it all the time and I have no concern about clandestine carry. Great knife. I have a brand new second Knockout in my safe for the inevitable day when I lose or break my current one which, if the 12 years I owned my previous knife is any indicator, I should have this dude for a while and as much as I put this knife through, if she hasn't broken yet; she probably won't.

Hi Rusty good tip about the 4 X coding. It's good to know how different brands mark their seconds. Time for a Rusty edge on this one.

A few nuggets of information in this video, especially from Blade HQ!
This Kershaw is a handsome o’ devil and I dig black or murdered-out knives. They don’t reflect the sun outdoors and are discreet everywhere. Hope that black is not painted on.
I see that the new “Banter” has a red-colored blade. Wonder if it is red to also not reflect the sun outdoors. It is not discreet, but attention-getting…and is that baked on or painted on?
Good to see a Kershaw “oldie” still around and wanted.

I believe the knockout will run again. It's just too good of a knife to let go IMO. I sent a note to Kershaw to improve the knife in a couple ways: I'd like to see the grip traction improved. I'd like to see the grip material they use on the Blur inlaid in the grooves of the knockout. I think that little extra traction would be useful, and the tacticool guys who mostly put form over function would think it looks cool. Or, do a full aggressive G10 handle on it. The other thing I recommended to Kershaw was to cut in some aggressive jimping into the top of the handles and the blade. Not shallow jimping like on the Blur but some aggressive jimping on the knife in addition to the safety and stability already provided by the flipper when deployed would be helpful when cutting aggressively. My two cents. I hope Kershaw is listening. And I agree with WARPIG and tombrown, deep clips are useless on working knives. But, to each his own right?
