This is a clip from sewing blogger Sara Lawson's online class, Building Better Bags: Interfacing & Structure. Why take this class? Students rave:

"Sara's class was so thorough that it gave me the confidence I need to try my hand at bag making. Her review of all different types of interfacing, her comparing various brands, and her many tips and techniques were so helpful to someone like me who is a complete beginner with most of these materials. And how nice that several of her bag patterns are available for free from Craftsy!"

Wish I had seen your video before buying all kinds of interfacings, some I like some not so much but don:t have a clue what I have…..your “charm pack” idea is great and thank you so much for your time and information. I am keeping your video for future reference.

Question, do I need a heat press for heavy interfacing? It seems like my iron giving enough heat and it is on high.

I use paper clips to clip the interfacing instruction to the interfacing - it's less bulky - these go in my box for small amounts. For larger amounts I relabel empty fabric bolts. I'm converting new a new way for large amounts: I've been getting discarded upholstery tubes. I cut them in half and store them in a tall rattan laundry basket. I punch a small hole in the top and attach an old-fashioned craft paper label. The tubes are easier to remove and return to the basket, more fits in the basket, and the interfacing is not folded.

You did not mention vlieseline products which are excellent! Pellon is difficult to find in Europe.

I've been wondering if Pellon uses color to differentiate between fusible and non-fusible. So far, I have only discovered color to indicate weight and woven/non-woven.
