FSR works best when targeting 1440p or 4k resolutions and heavily depends on how good is the anti-aliasing in game . However as a budget gamer with a 4 year old GPU, I'd rather use this than play at 720p.

EDIT 2: Edit: Guys this video is now kind of outdated after Nvidia and Radeon both launched their driver level upscaling features called Nvidia Image Scaling and Radeon Super Resolution respectively. So desktop users should use those.
Laptop users will be able to use these features when connecting a display directly to the discreet GPU, or if your laptop has a MUX switch.


I have shown the image quality much better in RDR2 video.

Some points:
FSR depends on the games implementation of AA. I recommend to turn on TAA if you care about image quality.
I have tested FC4 and NFS Heat also. FC4 looks very good, but NFS Heat looks like crap (as I said Native image should have good anti-aliasing).

Performance boost is not "always" guaranteed, since if you are already having CPU bottleneck, nothing will help increase fps.

Also results (image quality+performance) will vary game to game.

This is a global implementation of FSR 1.0, I don't think it's as good as when the game developer implements it natively. But this tech will only improve :)

6GB GPU+ owners can now try gaming at 1440p with FSR Ultra quality 😁 For example: 1660Ti/2060/3060 laptop users can try gaming at QHD now(may be on an external monitor).

Tested this in red dead redemption2 at medium-high settings game looks amazing lowest ~37 fps in Saint Denis (fairly demanding area) loving experience 👏🏼👍🏼

I'm using Magipie with a RX570 to run Shadow of the Tomb Raider. AMD FSR is working with what I believe is Ultra Quality. Really happy with the results, I don't know of I would be happier with Lossless Scalling

FSR looks worst when used for 1080p gaming. It does 4k well. But at 1080p the render quality is blurry. Dlss at quality settings gives sharp images at 1080p.

In my case playing rise of the tomb raider if I use lossless scaling the fps drops like 10 fps
I don't know what is wrong
But I noticed when I use lossless scaling my GPU usage decreased like only 50-60% is using
