I think it's funny that Grant Gustin (Sebastian) left his role as a Jet in West Side Story in the Broadway revival tour to be on Glee, and in his first episode he has to watch them perform West Side Story xD

Please understand that Glee did not try to copy the musical. They wanted to make it look like an actual high school production. That's why they didn't make the accents sound accurate.

Everyone talks about how amazing Santana was as Anita (and rightfully so, perfectly cast) but no one talks about Puck as Bernardo. He was also the perfect casting choice, and he’s so good in this number
