Someone explained this with shopping carts --
Lawful good: returns cart to inside store
Neutral good: leaves cart in parking lot but makes sure it's not blocking a space
Chaotic good: gives cart to someone just arriving
Lawful neutral: puts cart in that little corral in parking lot
True neutral: leaves cart wherever he finishes with it
Chaotic neutral: shoves cart in random direction and walks away
Lawful evil: puts cart in corral backwards so that it wastes space and makes the guy's job harder
Neutral evil: puts cart so that it blocks someone from pulling out or getting his door open
Chaotic evil: steals cart

I would argue that palpatine fills the lawful evil role more than vader. Because in the end Vader rebelled against him to save his son.

Captain America during the Winter Soldier and especially Civil War is an example of a Lawful Good who is faced with the idea of questioning the established laws/higher power.

Lawful good: Always tries to do the right thing, but might have an absolute mentality.
Neutral good: Always tries to do the right thing but also understand life is morally grey.
Chaotic good: Troublemakers with hearts of gold.
Lawful neutral: A thug or even cop with the same mentality "I'm just doing my job, I do what I'm told."
True neutral: I don't care 1 way or another, but I may help 1 side more than the other.
Chaotic neutral: Anti-heroes.
Lawful evil: Villains that have a code of honor.
Neutral evil: Evil maybe even pure evil but has layers and standards.
Chaotic evil: Psychopaths and monsters.

Lawful does NOT necessarily mean following the Law but rather following a strict set of rules

Lawful good: "I'll help you, I'll make your bullies pay for what they've done, since they deserve it."

Neutral good: "I'll help you, I'll show you how to stand up to your bullies, so they leave you alone."

Chaotic good: "I'll help you, I'll threaten your bullies with a gun, they'll surely stop picking on you after that one."

Being "lawful" isn't restriction what's actually in the law, but based on the character's principles. It's usually used to align with _the_ law, but it's not necessary. Being "Good" or "Evil" depends solely on the character's intentions. It's why you don't call a lion eating a person to be evil.

It's also why you could have lawful good villains. People wanting to do good but have to do heinous things to do so. So long as they hold onto their established principles.

What I loved most of the video is that it not only vaguely tells you what the alignment is and one or two pop culture characters that generally reflect the alignment, but also presents examples of the usual challenges they might encounter, giving not only extra tools for character creation and narrative, but also making it more relatable.

My cleric/monk of Fire started out Lawful Good and got so dissillusioned by the church that he turned Chaotic Good - bringing the poor back from the dead - when no one else cared.

Lawful Neutral because I strictly follow my promises, never break the conditions of deals, interested in order when it comes to work, follow the rules I create for others (if I do)

Chaotic Neutral because I hate obeying, I avoid pointless restrictions, don't follow rules I don't agree with myself.

Though True Neutral's description kinda doesn't fit me.

I am chaotic good because I don’t believe that laws and societal norms dictate what is right or wrong. I follow what I believe to be moral regardless of whether it conflicts with the law or societal expectations. People should follow what is right even if it doesn’t align with the law or what society as a whole believes to be moral. People also shouldn’t blindly follow rules or societal norms just because it’s what they’re used to. The law and societal norms are not absolute rules on how to live your life. They should be questioned and challenged by people to make sure that they actually make sense. And if they don’t hold up or make sense then they should be abolished.

I think that Robocop is more lawful good than lawful neutral.
Despite the fact that he’s literally programmed to uphold the law, he has in some stories found ways to rebel against what was technically legal when he knew that it violated the spirit of the law and was morally wrong. Not surprising when he lives in a world where an amoral mega corporation owns the police.

*( Lawful Good )* ; Superman & Batman

*( Neutral Good )* ; Spiderman & Prolly YOU irl

*( Chaotic Good )* ; Either your Average Anti-Hero or an Heroic Anarchist (usually the second option).



*( Lawful Neutral )* ; Either "Follow the order and authority for the sake of The Order, no matter what anyone else says", or "Follow your own moral code bcuz that's how you live life, no matter what anyone else says"

*( True Neutral )* ; Either a Monk, an Mercenary, or a person that simply/just wanna survive without any moral bias in their life.

*( Chaotic Neutral )* ; For BETTER or for WORSE, they're a "Free Spirit"



*( Lawful Evil )* ; Either your average Anti-Villain or an total Manipulator (usually the second option).

*( Neutral Evil )* ; A evilish selfish, but... also very practical guy!
