The Hobbit Legacy Trailer (2014) - Peter Jackson Movie HD

---
From Academy Award®-winning filmmaker Peter Jackson comes “The Hobbit: The Battle of the Five Armies,” the third in a trilogy of films adapting the enduringly popular masterpiece The Hobbit, by J.R.R. Tolkien.

“The Hobbit: The Battle of the Five Armies” brings to an epic conclusion the adventures of Bilbo Baggins, Thorin Oakenshield and the Company of Dwarves. Having reclaimed their homeland from the Dragon Smaug, the Company has unwittingly unleashed a deadly force into the world. Enraged, Smaug rains his fiery wrath down upon the defenseless men, women and children of Lake-town.

Obsessed above all else with his reclaimed treasure, Thorin sacrifices friendship and honor to hoard it as Bilbo’s frantic attempts to make him see reason drive the Hobbit towards a desperate and dangerous choice. But there are even greater dangers ahead. Unseen by any but the Wizard Gandalf, the great enemy Sauron has sent forth legions of Orcs in a stealth attack upon the Lonely Mountain.

As darkness converges on their escalating conflict, the races of Dwarves, Elves and Men must decide – unite or be destroyed. Bilbo finds himself fighting for his life and the lives of his friends in the epic Battle of the Five Armies, as the future of Middle-earth hangs in the balance.

Oh my gosh. I almost cried. This is the greatest trailer I've ever seen, and nothing can express how much I love it and Tolkien's world as a whole. No story I've ever read or seen brings out more emotion, fantasy, happiness, and just the feeling of a fantastic adventure than the Lord of the Rings/Hobbit saga does in its best moments.

After seeing this, I was about to burst into tears of both joy at this wonderful homage to the movie legacy and sadness because it was ending. I just wish I could say in words how much I adore Middle Earth. God, when Battle of Five Armies ends and I see the credits roll, I'm standing up and cheering as I throw my hat in the air. And when I get the whole saga as a collection, I'm never taking my eyes off of it.

They say "the last time we'll be returning to Middle Earth".
What about Hurin? What about Turin, the greatest hero of Beleriand? What about Valinor, Melkor, the Ruin of Moria?
There are still great stories to be told on Middle Earth.

Gandalf and the Istari don't come around to Middle Earth until after the Akallabeth (The rise and fall of the Númenorians)

If they make a Silmarillion trilogy, then need to carefully choose which stories they include.

My suggestion would be that they start off as usual with a narrated intro (by Cate "Galadriel" Blanchet, obviously) of the creation of the Middle Earth, and the coming of the Elves, Fëanor, and his creation of the Silmarills - and from there have how the Elves were scattered across Middle Earth as the main story for the 1st movie. It would basically be one huge explanation, and do long time jumps, but I think they could pull it off. (Lots of "xxx years later")

The 2nd movie would have an intro that explains the Coming of Men, and how Men and Elves are really sibling races. Explain how the fate of Men differs from the fate of  Elves, and that while when Elves die they go to Valinor and the halls of Mandos, whereas nobody knows were men go when they die, and how Morgoth used this to fill Men with fear of death and the unknown.
Into the movie, a second narration would talk about the creation of Dwarves (and subsequently Ents). It would explain why there is such a fundamental hate and distrust between Elves and Dwarves. The story of Beren and Lúthien would be the main plot line. They would then be able to tie in how the Dwarves slay Lúthien's father King Thingol, and then somehow jump to the last capturing of Morgoth - and the rise of Sauron as the ultimate cliffhanger for the 3rd movie.

The 3rd movie would possibly make some changes to the book and have Elrond and Elros be direct descendants of Beren and Lúthien (They're not in the book) because it fits the succession from the second movie. It would explain in narration how Elrond chose the path of the Elves, and how Elros chose the path of Men - and founded the blessed human kingdom of Númenor. This is the time when all the Rings of Power were created, and thus also the One Ring. The main plot like would be the rise and fall of that kingdom, and how it was corrupted by Sauron to be foolish enough to attach Valinor itself.
As an epilog it would show us glimpses of how the Istari came along. And if I was Peter Jackson, I would also take some creative license and explain why Gandalf (and possibly a few of the other Istari) have such a soft spot for Hobbits.

This would possibly fit into 4 or even 5 movies,  but I think they could do it in 3 with some creative license.
It COULD also be a TV show divided into at least 3 seasons, 10-12 episodes each and with the highest budget of any TV show ever.

The Hobbit: There and Back Again was such a better title.

Many years ago I read Mr tokens masterpiece; this was long before movies were made of his works, if he were alive today I am sure he would be very proud of how the world he created has been brought to life on the silver screen.

Wait, what?

I thought at first this was going to be some sort of remastered blue-ray version of LotR and then thought it was going to be some sort of Trilogy pack with LotR + Hobbit trilogies together.
