Meet My New Bumblebee Millipedes (I have big plans!)

Today I'll be unboxing and setting up my first ever pet millipedes. I have some big plans for these little critters, but first we must keep them in their own little tank.

UPDATE: After a little more research I have decided against moving the millipedes in my tank, as I have read that isopods can cause problems to freshly moulted millipedes. Though these were placed in the old Panda King tank, there was only a couple left, which I moved into one of my other tanks, after I learnt they can pose a risk to the millipedes. Thanks for everyone's advice.

appreciate the shout out! And yes so far absolutely no problems with the millipedes in that enclosure. The only problems the plants face are those caused by the snake sitting on them 😂 these little bumblebees are beautiful!

Also, funny side note - I was always laugh to myself when I see any reptile or invert being placed directly onto a massive piece of food, because I just imagine the feeling if a giant just picked us up and placed us gently on to a massive pizza or something hahaha

Millipedes are a good choice go for cuc as in my experience they eat waste and decaying material more than isopods, they dont eat live plants at all surpisingly at least for me and there primarily active at night they tent to curl up underground in the day which is fascinating to me

Oh my goodness what delightful millipedes!!! The plans for Rex sound really exciting! I recently bought a viperia enclosure after seeing your experience with them, it took them a little over a month to get to me. It's a 5x3x3 enclosure for my royal python!

I love hearing her voice. Millis are detritivores. They won't hurt plants. They're strictly forest floor dwellers, so I doubt they'll be using vertical space..

It's so weird how I am seeing this now. I just came back from holiday in Florida and these guys were crawling about everywhere 🤣 (apparently they're invasive there though) still very cool however.

just a heads up, the babies can arrive before they're full size lol i didn't know and panicked. why? before they're large enough to have much pigment they look a Little bit like maggots. also, unsure if they are safe to eat should a reptile live with them. the seller i got mine from was adamant that i keep them away from anything that might put them in their mouth.

You should actually try and make homemade pangea (blend living insects with fruit, suplements, and why not bee pollen)

i wouldnt suggest keeping them with panda kings, iirc panda kings are protein loving and millipedes dont have a lot of defenses

heyy i have a question. so i got this baby leopard gecko and i got him not too long ago. hes starting ro get comfortable but im not sure when i should start putting my hand in the tank. i did it once and i spooked him so i figured it wasnt time. hes a few months old btw🦎

You should get 2 mourning geckos in the same tank(They will breed infinitely without a male and good food for the skinks also they are omnivorous)

Hi does anyone know wether I can cohab different isopods in a bioactive tank? I am afraid the larger cuban ones will crowd out the smaller white dwarfs.
