I love how the song establishes that they knew each other before the war. It reinforces their friendship, and it’s so cute. Seeing Odysseus have an actual song with a friend guiding him out of the darkness that the war tainted his mind with is just so sweet. I want a lifelong friend like Polites, ngl.

I kind of wish this song wasn’t cut but part of me understands why it was.

Though I can understand why this song was cut (that possibly being so Odysseus could go over the edge and reject Polites's optimism), I really wish that it could have stayed if only for the beginning alone. I feel like it adds so much to Polites's character; it shows he recognizes that the world can be dangerous and scary, but that doesn't mean optimism doesn't have its place and further emphasizes that it isn't worthless. It adds a layer of intelligence to Polites that I feel is missing from him in the final cut.

Okay I don't know who did the vocals for Polites here because they did a great job. But it's just a crime that we never got an official release of this song with Steven doing it. I would have loved that.
