Good information here. And we deal with the same structure in North Carolina when developing our projects. It is also important for your customers to understand the 3 levels of engineering. Pre Construction engineering design sets the basis of the project. Project oversight is the documentation of said project with site visits, photos, and/or video documentation of production with the engineer. Close out inspection and summary is the final step where the engineer produces the required documentation to close out the permit and/or the project as a whole.

Should I hire a structural engineer if I’m building a new home? If so, at what point should I bring the structural engineer in? At the pre-drywall inspection or after the house is complete?

Please consider uploading a video WITHOUT the annoyingly LOUD music! 0:53 seconds in, and I couldn't take it. 😣
