After Hollywood lost the culture war the Box Office is in the toilet. Have things gotten so bad Tinseltown needs Snow White to save it? So much for 'survive until 25.'

The "Live Action" 'Snow White'. Where: 70% of the main cast is CGI, Snow isn't White, the two female leads hate each other, the meaning of the story is removed, and the Prince is hated by main lead for being a heterosexual Man's idealised form.

On reflection, I'd argue 2003 was where it all began, with Terminator 3. John Connor was "deconstructed" into a whiney, helpless, burnout, broken in the full Luke Skywalker fashion, and upstaged by the new, better and more awesome girl-boss, the new savior of humanity. We didn't know it at the time but this was the formula of things to come.

Im black. When the Spawn comic came out, I was blown away. When it was revealed he was black, I was like, "Oh, cool", and kept reading.
He was just a badass character and his race wasn't important to me, just like Peter Parkers or Cap's race wasn't important. Their character was.
When they said Falcon was going to be Cap, I felt nothing but disappointment.

People are waking up and realizing that idol worship is dying. Hollywood and celebrities used to be put HIGH up on their pedestals. Some people are still hanging onto that ideal, but most are done with it.

It is only fitting that 'Snow White' would book-end this era. It began as an example of creativity, technology, and experimentation, and ended as an example of stale, rehashed, and stagnant.
