We didn’t think he had a severe case 😢 Has anyone gone to helmet route or tried the perfect noggin? How’d it work for your baby?

As a mom, pharmacist, and someone who had a cousin and close friend have children with this condition, I strongly recommend you take the doctor's advice to get a helmet for your precious baby. It is but a short time in his life that he will have to wear it, but it will serve him well in the long run. Both my cousin and friend's children have perfectly shaped heads now. Continue to pray about it and ask the Lord to give you guidance. 💕

As a child who had crooked legs and I wore wooden bottom boots with a bar that was screwed into the bottom of them for 23hrs a day. I didn't walk until I was almost 2yrs old but, when I did I walked straight and my bones weren't crooked anymore.

I tell you this story because had my parents waited and done all of the "alternative" methods then, I would have had to have surgery to correct.my legs and hips.

Go with the helmet. It may be a little inconvenient right now but, it's the quickest, easiest and safest way to correct his issue. The other methods are leaving him open to having more problems. Such as his head becoming more flat on the side they are concerned about and developing flatness on the other side of his head. The helmet will help to fix the one side, while simultaneously protecting and developing the rest of his head evenly. Just something to consider. He is the most beautiful baby❤

Old folks always say youre supposed to shape a baby's head.

Your baby is so cute. ❤

After reading the warning on the PerfectNoggin, it states, "For moderate to severe flattening, a well-made molding helmet can be beneficial in correcting whatever flattening is present. " So although, the helmet may not be esthetically appeasing, please keep in mind that the helmet is merely TEMPORARY vs something that could be PERMANANET if not adressed properly now. Blessing to you and your husband in the care for your son.

I work in pediatrics and he will do great. Babies are so resilient. He won’t even know it there and it’s a very short time to avoid lifelong flattening. He’ll thank you in the future lol.

It’s hard listening to them cry, but it’ll be easier in the long run tolerating a little discomfort now. Children test parents as they get older, and you have to be strong through the tears, etc. if you want to raise happy, emotionally well adjusted adults. You got this!❤

Where I’m from in Ga growing up and with my own children, we were always told to shape the baby’s head and don’t let them lay flat too long too often. From birth you shape the baby’s head everyday and this is true idc what anyone says. And I’ve been a medical professional for over 20yrs

Im so thankful for my grandmother shaping my head when I was a baby. I had a very low fade in my twenties and received so many compliments thanks to my Jamaican mother and grandmother being knowledgeable about these things 😊💕🙌🏾

As a new mom i know you're doing your best and I'm rooting for you! Its time to listen to the doctors now though it seems...best of luck 🤞🏾🫶🏾

I gave birth in a coma at 26 weeks. When I woke they told me I had the baby. I got to meet my baby on the 10th day in Nicu.
He stayed there for three months. Because of the incubator and procedures he developed a flat head. We used a helmet and it helped. He turns 7 this July 14. Only when you touch his head you can feel a slight flat spot but you can’t see anything anymore.
Your son will do great👍🏾

Mine had one for two months and at first I was worried, anxious, sad, and scared. BUT they adjust quickly and the time flew by. Now her head is round, and it’s still the best decision we ever made!

My grandmother would do manual molding of the head daily and softly. It works over time.
Blessings 🙏🏽

You can shape his head with your hands rubbing it round daily. But I’d couple that with the helmet now since he is 5 months. He’s a real cutie pie !❤
