One of the best flog explanations on youtube

I've been looking to get into learning how to shoot in Flog and color grade. One thing I wasn't too sure was how to expose it on the X-H1 and this helped! Now I know it's a stop in a half above. Thanks!

You are able to spout off facts so easily without tripping over words. Wow. Great video. And amazing personality for the camera.

4:02 Add Fujifilms to that list :P. They have multiple cameras that can shoot in RAW now. They are all 10K€ though. No chance we'll get those capabilities in the consumer grade cameras.

Hard to say not to use it in lowlight now that it has dual native iso in flog

Very helpful! The human eye can still see much more (especially shadows), how to simulate that with grading? Is it possible to use a lut for highs and lut for shadows and bracket them into HDR lut?

Great video! There are not a lot resources covering Fujifilm camera's F log, although I suppose the log profile concept is quite generic.

Trying out the Gobe Variable ND filter. It's ok. Definitely a little color to it. Which ND Filter was used here?

in 10bit, is there any advantages of log usage in 4:2:0? or it's (only) makes sense in 4:2:2?

The general rule of thumb is that, for skin tones Zebras should be 70%. For sheep and clouds, 100%

Excellent explanation!
How do you correct for the overexposure in post-production? I have 3d luts that simulate over- and underexposure. Is it OK to overexpose +1EV when shooting the video, then grading with Fuji's lut then with a -1EV lut?

Do NOT use F-Log in normal lighting situations or low light  👍Same applies to any Log file. Also, if your camera only exports 8bit, then Log footage will actually give you less leverage in post (i.e. your shadows will be muddy and noisy). Great tips man!

When you load the flog luts on your smallhd monitor, how does that affect what you see for exposure on the monitor while shooting? You've recommended overexposing your log shots so that your shadows don't fall apart. Will the LUT preview on the monitor look "normal" when you overexpose? Or will overexposing for your log footage still look overly bright on the monitor? Hopefully that made sense haha.

Thanks for the video. Very helpful. I have the X-T3 and would like to use F-Log. But it sets the ISO to a minimum of 640. I can't figure out why. Is this something you have come across?

Hey man I need a opionion,
What should i pick for hybrid shooting,
An xh1 battery grip kit for $1850,
Or xt3 with an ois lens,
For me ibis is important for handheld video but the xt3 autofcus and newer processor's capabilities have really put me in a knot.

Why are you supposed to expose a stop over?
