This has saved me twice over three years so I’ve saved $80 in buckets and more importantly avoided the plastic waste. Thank you!!

I took mine apart and determined that it was that little part. I KNEW if I came on YT and searched, someone would link me to the part that I need. BUT, I didn't order the one linked... I found a four pack for $8 with good reviews. Pretty sure they will fit just fine. I have two of these of my own, and also the retreat center that I do work for has like 20 of them. Now I've got backup for when they break. ;)

Thank you so much! I was able to repair mine.🙌🏾 It gave me a hard time coming off; But I used WD-40 and started pressing the pedal manually, while using a screwdriver for resistance; And it came off without the cover stick breaking. 💪🏾👩🏾‍🔧🤩😅🥹❤️

A few notes. I was able to get the screws out of the support bar with linemans plyers. Something skinnier might be better but they were handy. It was annoying but only for 10 minutes or so. Lubed mine with white lithium and got it moving but still sticky. Great vid thank you very much!

Thanks so much for this video. After my O Cedar broke I bought another kind for $100.00. It is a piece of junk, at least the 6 mop heads for new one does fit my old one.. I am so happy to be able to come to You Tube to learn almost everything. I am thrilled.

Dude thank you, I took the pedal mechanism off no prob but didn't realize the bearing wasn't just a heavy duty bolt of sorts to keep the upper gear on until i found this.

Thanks for the video. I almost ordered the part but decided to try greasing it and it now works great.

Thank you for this. I’ve been having issues with mine and was about to just throw it out and buy a new one. Just ordered the part from Amazon.

It was a pain to get the old ball bearing part but once I did it smooth sailing. Thanks for the helpful video!

Another repair complete ... with your help. I am sure it will be temporary. On my wife's unit, the plastic gear that fits on the basket shaft worked its way out of two pseudo-clips that hold the gear in place with the main gear. This is the cinchiest setup as could be imagined considering the job it is supposed to accomplish. I told my wife to take it easy on this POS and maybe it will work for a while.

Replace the whole unit? I'd rather buy thirty lotto tickets than waste more money on a thing like this. And I really don't want to make a hobby of working on this every week.

Thank you! I like the mop but I’ve “broken” one every year for a few years and was about to give up on them.

I literally used mine ONCE before it broke. Idea: companies actually make lasting products instead of screwing their customers out of more money!

Good video but big omission: It's important to insert the bearing so that eventually it is writing-side ("HF081412") up. If you put the bearing in upside-down, which he doesn't explain, you're screwed.

BTW, many products use this otherwise useful bearing, except that it appears to be made only in the PRC out of easily-rustable steel. When you're done with the bucket, leave it right-side up, so water doesn't drip from below into the bearing. Also, store it, if at all possible, somewhere dry. If you do that, it will last for many years.

No need to destroy the bracket to replace the gear. Just take a screw driver or other lever and lift the bracket. The entire piece will just pop off.
