Star Wars: Making the Ewok Adventures Part 2 - Battle for Endor

Right after George Lucas completed the original Star Wars trilogy, the idea of a TV-movie with the Ewoks was conceived.

Since there is no official "Making of" for the two Ewok Adventures I decided to gather the information and make it myself.

This two-part unofficial documentary is made for educational purposes. All rights belong to the respective owners, no copyright infringement intended. This is a labor of love. Part 2 focuses on second TV-movie Ewoks: The Battle for Endor/ Ewoks and the Marauders of Endor.
.

Thank you to everyone who has contributed, especially Stuart Wright for the narration.

Glad the legacy of these films lives on, they were an important part of my childhood. I certainly hope one day that Disney releases them on Blu-ray with all the bonus footage they can muster! Excellent work on preserving these behind the scenes elements that make it so engaging.

Man, that ominous music and foreboding narration made me think something inexplicably horrific happened on the set. LOL

I've loved these since their first airing. Recorded them on VCR. Would show them to friends from childhood through high school. Bought the double DVD later. And I STILL quote Wilfred Brimley's Noa. :-)

RIP Wilfred Brimley

Cool Story and this brings back a lot of memories... My brother and I spent most of the summer of '85 as Marauders filming around Marin County, including Skywalker ranch.... it was a lot of fun.

I find it absolutely abysmal that Disney just simply doesn’t care about the legacy of these films. I love Battle for Endor, my sister and I grew up with it. Not to mention the gorgeous score by Peter Bernstein. To me these films are more Star Wars than anything Disney vomits out today.

That's awesome to find out about the space slug. LOL

I also liked the similarities of the giant spider web scene with the one in Krull.

I was born in 1980, and was (I still am to some extent) one of those kids with a wildly vivid imagination. You know, the kind that'll get you into trouble if you don't keep it reined in. Anyway, it should go without saying that anything Star Wars related was an absolute obsession for me. I was fortunate enough to have seen both of these made for television movies on ABC back when they were first aired, and for most young Star Wars fans who were likely coming down off of the recent high of experiencing Return of the Jedi (which at that time was seen as the closing curtain on Star Wars as we knew it) these two additional films were nothing short of an answered prayer. Now there are many people who do not enjoy the Ewok presence in Star Wars lore. Some have even gone as far as to suggest they be edited out, and eliminated from ROTJ altogether, which is the most abhorrent, blasphemous bantha crap I've ever heard. I adore the Ewoks, the Forest Moon of Endor and everything about them and their culture. So these two, surprisingly, well-made movies for the time, are invaluable to me nowadays as an adult. Watching them now as a much older Star Wars fan is like pure crack cocaine in nostalgia form. They instill that Saturday morning in the midst of summer break feeling for me, when all was good and right in the world, and the only real treat I faced was being late for dinner.

Trivia: In Australia and New Zealand, Caravan of Courage: An Ewok Adventure was released on VHS by CBS/FOX Video.

This was a real pleasure to watch, very entertaining and informative. I learned a great deal about a childhood favorite of mine that I never knew before. Thank you very much for making this content! :D

I must admit Battle for Endor was more enjoyable than Caravan of Courage.

One day, not long ago, I realized I'd never actually seen this movie? So, I watched it. What do you mean they killed off the main characters from the first movie? Why? This video points at George. At least I know why.
