1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted and cooled
1 cup packed brown sugar
1 eggs + 1 egg yolk, room temperature
1 tablespoon vanilla extract
1/4 teaspoon baking powder
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 cup all purpose flour
1 cup semisweet chocolate chips (optional)

I've made these forever. Chocolate chip cookie bars are the best when you don't feel like taking the time to make a multiple batches of cookies. My kids used to go nuts for them and still do. Made some and brought them over to my eldest daughter's home once when she wasn't feeling well.
