Hey all, I'm the owner of the guitar. Dave suggested that I tune the guitar up to F# and let it sit for a few days if I wanted to get more relief out of the neck. I took his advice, and after I bringing the strings back to standard E the neck has gained the perfect amount of relief! It's almost identical now to my other Silhouette (which has an all maple neck). Thank you, Dave!

I really like the body shape of a Music Man Silhouette over a Fender Strat. Seems slightly more compact. Hey Keith Richard's has been using them for decades now! I've also been hearing this thing around youtube lately that Music Man necks are really comfortable. I've gotta' go try a couple now.

Had an Epicphonie come round a short while ago with a dead straight neck it also had a dual action truss rod but it didn't seem to do much. I slackened the t-rod and applied some force to the headstock while pressing on the middle of the fretboard (quite a bit of force just using muscle power) and suddenly the t-rod started to work again, suspect it was just stuck. I managed to get a good relief on it afterwards.

Had a buddy who got a silo and the neck joint had some minor cracks in it. When he sent it back, rather than quickly cover up the cracks, they sawed the body in half and trashed it. They remade a whole new body for him and even gave it back it's original, discontinued color. Ernie Ball has a reputation of quality and they don't want that to be tarnished. I would have sent that back and gotten a new one.

I set all my trem guitars with 5 springs, but I do use 11's, so there's a lot more string tension.

Hi Dave, I have a Music Man Axis and the only way to adjust the string height is to shim the neck, which makes for an interesting set up, lol. Also, because it has an unfinished neck, I'm now no stranger to swinging on the truss rod.
