In this Good e-Reader Comparison Video we look at the Barnes and Noble Nook Glowlight and the Amazon Kindle Paperwhite 2. Today we look at magazines, eBooks and other content to give you a sense on how they compare directly against each other.

We also do a nighttime reading test on these two so you can see how the built in reading lights perform.

Thank you for this great comparison, guys! I've been stressing over which e-reader to purchase, and your hands-on demo has sold the Kindle Paperwhite! The only nit-pick I'd have, however, is the advertisements on Kindle. Surprised you didn't mention that. It's not a big deal, though: you only see it on the sleep screen, and as a small banner on the bottom of your Home screen. It never interferes with the actual reading experience, thank goodness!

Thanks for the comparison guys! Seeing these 2 side-by-side makes me feel better about my decision to upgrade to the Paperwhite from my Nook Simple Touch. Sorry B&N but Amazon built a superior product this time.

Thanks, this really helped me decide which one I really want to buy. I will probably get the nook though because altogether I like the look more, and I feel that buying it is getting more for your money, even though it is slightly less advanced.

I would like to point out that even though B&N Store is limited to a few countries, they do have a much larger catalog. I have been frustrated by not being able to find older books on the Kindle store, especially in Sci-Fi and Philosophy categories, but the B&N store has everything, albeit for a higher price. But I dont care about a few dollars when I can read a great book without having to source a hard copy from a used book store.

When you convert epub into mobi using calibre, and read it on kindle, is all the chapter info kept? Are chapters still listed to help you navigate around a book?

I have the nook and my brother has his kindle paper. I actually enjoy my nook more than his. I'm using it for simple reading. You don't notice the things you're talking about. And yes you can purchase books from the device. I absolutely love mine. Can't go wrong with the nook.

Love my Kindle I've had the new paperwhite for about 2 months now and go everywhere with it. One problem I am seeing is I'm having to charge my battery almost every day. But I do read a lot ! Maybe that's why ?

Great job guys. Now my question. I am using kindle apps to read books on my Mac and iphone. Now, i tried it on iPad and really didn't like it. What about the nook? Can i buy nook glowlight and still read my books?

Hi, i enjoyed your reviews for some time now. I need to choose between these two readers and i'd appreciate your help, is the kindle better for night reading? what about all-around daylight in the sun reading and pdf reading ? Also does paperwhite 2 mean the 2013 or 2014 model ?

I have a 36 MB book in pdf file format. If I convert it to Kindle file using e.g. Calibre, will Kindle Paperwhite be struggling with it as well?

Goodereader a question on the Nook Glowlight: can I load other e-pub on it, like if I buy from a Swedish store and get a e-book? And if so, is there only 512 MB of memory for other books outside of the Noble ecosystem?
