Caution When Using Variables in DAX and Power BI

I have written another blog post about variables previously and explained how useful variables are. Variables in DAX are helpful in both readability and also the performance of your code. However, there are scenarios that you have to be careful when you use variables. Because variables are stored, they might return a result that is different from if you had that definition in a measure. Let's see an example in this video.

Hi Reza, thanks for your video. Question: Is it better to create variables then standalone measures (measures which won't be used anywhere else)? Looking in advance for your feedback. Thanks

First thank you for your video. What is the added value since the variable is inside the calculate expression, doesn't this mean that it will be evaluated for each row ? In an other meaning, what is the the added value of using variable in this example ?
Thanks.
