Pure Music - Guru Q10 VS DALI Rubicon 6

A Pure Music Batte... The small Guru Q10 with stands (2800 euro) VS the big DALI Rubicon 6 (4000 euro). How big is the difference on our reference system?
We tested the speakers on:

Gurus designed to be up against the wall and with acoustic foam behind and towards middle between them. This usecase is suboptimal, but actually surprised they didn't fall much more short in the bass range than this.

Understand that it would mess up this kind of mic setup, but just so people know... there's quite a bit of performance left in the Gurus when properly used.

Electronic music and GURU Q10 is magic . I have QM two model and feed them with Roksan Caspian M2 serie amplifier.

Leuk om een test met de Guru te zien. Het stuk Bach is behoorlijk kritisch, vooral in het lage.

Disclaimer: I have a pair of Guru Junior on my setup 2 and they are excelent for the price (they perform better against the wall). In this demo, the Gurus sound superior. Wider soundstage, clear and articulate highs and lows... The midrange from the Gurus is more palpable :)

The spatial imaging on the Guru’s seems much more detailed, but there’s a part of low-mid missing in the frequency spectrum, somewhere around 100-200 Hz. But it could be (lack of/way of) acoustical treatment of the room?

Leuke battle. Mijn voorkeur zou de Guru zijn evt met een sub om het laag wellicht wat dieper te krijgen. De Dali is voor mij (met mijn Sony wx1000xm3 headphone) iets te boomy. Mooi dat je de songs er nu bij zet!

Sadly that GURU QM 60 floorstander was withdrawn soon after release. Nobody knows why... would have been a better competitor to the Sixes.

Thanks for a great comparison. The gurus are meant to be placed right up against the wall, is there a reason you don't do this? Would be interesting how much that changes the bass. Personally I prefer the gurus, the mids seem more 'magical'.

Oei... moeilijk vergelijk 🤔 niet alleen enorm prijsverschil, maar ook twee uitersten in het klankspectrum. De Dali heel vol en in het laag tegen boomy aan, maar de Guru mist daar in tegen zoveel volume dat het een hele kale bedoening is. Zelfs de instrumenten in de middenfrequentie klinken voor mij onnatuurlijk en het hoog klinkt voor mij heel geforceerd. De Guru zou je misschien moeten combineren met een enorm warme versterker. Ik zou uiteindelijk voor geen van beide kiezen, maar wel een leuk vergelijk, prime vergelijk 👍🏻

I keep thinking the DALI is held back by the crossover or that something is off about how the drivers are paired.
