The more time I spend in the credit card game, the more I feel like my thoughts on cards align more and more with yours. Specific to this video, I feel the exact same way as you with the Venture X as I've talked about on my channel lately too. Luckily it gives easy positive value with one booking a year through their portal, but it's really not a luxury travel card outside of the Capital One Lounge access. But hey, I'm gonna keep trying all the cards I can to see what I like the most! 👊🏼

My go to travel card is the AMEX Green. The 3x points for restaurants, travel, and transit makes it easy for someone like me to not having to worry about maximizing. If it had primary car rental insurance like the Sapphire Preferred, I would argue it's the best mid tier travel card in the game.

I just checked out of the Hyatt Regency in Scottsdale, AZ. 10/10 for the landscaping, architecture, and customer service. Like our prior stays at Hyatt, the room itself was just ok. Now we're at the Waldorf Astoria, with a 1, 200 sq ft suite upgrade! I am convinced more than ever that we're getting the superior value with Hilton. Naturally the Amex Platinum is our favorite for transfer partners.

Fun video, Uncle Luke! It’s always interesting to hear perspectives. I agree, big daddy Platinum is consistently the top player in the travel game! But the competition is heating up 🔥! They’ve got C1, Citi, Chase, and now even Wells Fargo knocking at their door!

Hey Luke, I just got the new Hilton Aspire Card, looks better in person. This got me thinking with the additional free night at $30K spend. I guess it depends on how much one spends in restaurant and grocery, but this (and the Surpass) could be a contender agains the Amex Gold. A $400+ free night sweetens the earnings, and I don't have to mess with the food delivery credits. We'll be earning more than enough MR with 2 BBP cards.

If you make one trip a year, so easy to get value from the capital one venture x.

The portal is so useful for comparing prices for diff dates. Easy to transfer the 10k bonus to Turkish airlines and get over 1c/point redemption value.

Let's Go! Top 5 is tough. CS Platinum was #1 on my travel card ranking. Good stuff Luke

Great video! I knew you were going to throw the WF Autograph in there. It's becoming my favorite too, that transfer partners bonus is icing on the cake for me; especially if United becomes a transfer partner like Bilt.

Uncle Luke dropping that knowledge! I only have the Amex EveryDay and Business Gold, so I didn’t have a Walmart+ credit. I normally wouldn’t pay for it, but you bring up a great point about having it for vacations and emergencies!

It might even come in handy at a wedding I’m attending tomorrow if something comes up!

Love your content.

Great list! Amex Platinum is 👑 and I don't see myself canceling this card anytime soon. I've yet to have an issue getting into the centurion lounge at LAX 🤷🏾

I've been to Istanbul and I agree with you 🙌🏾 Such a beautiful country 🇹🇷

Enjoy your trip 🤙🏾

Really liked your input on the VX card. Curious to see if I get it soon and downgrade in the future it if they kill it down the road.

That’s a really solid list! Hope you’re having a great time in Prague. My wife had fun when she visited a while ago

I'm definitely starting to see a lot of the validity behind using the Ink Preferred over the CSP that still has those travel upside benefits. Totally agree with you as well that Chase Offers can really add-up and honestly can be surprisingly great- For football fans, I know they ran different offers for NFL Sunday Ticket which I would definitely take advantage of, if I didn't watch RedZone every Sunday haha. Great video as always Luke!

I agree with all of your picks! I don’t have the Venture X so Capital One can you know what! Lol. I hope you are having a wonderful time!

I plan to get either the CSP or CIP to transfer Chase UR points to transfer partners in 2nd qtr 2024. And longer play will be the AmEx Platinum in a few years when we plan to take more international flights.

I agree about the Platinum credits matching my lifestyle. Definitely makes it more justifiable haha.

Also, just noticed that if you listen closely it sounds like the end credits song is saying “Uncle Luke” 😂😂😂

Uncle Luke! Great video. I disagree with your assertion that the Hilton Honors Aspire is “not a travel card”. There’s certainly debate as to whether it’s a good travel card, but with flight credits, rental car elite status, resort elite status and credits, Clear Plus membership, and travel protection(s), it ranks as a travel card to me, even if “hotel heavy”.
